thanks to Hyundai for keeping driver involvement alive in 2024 new cars.

Chris Harris once said that an i20 N excites him more than a Ferrari SF90, this coming from a guy who has driven probably every sports and hypercar on the planet and experienced cars that feel like absolute rockets in terms of speed. The i20 N is fun, it’s brilliant, perfectly designed in terms of looks, balance, power and weight and on top of all has the magical 3 pedals that is on the brink of extinction, this is a modern day drivers car, for all the people who only care about high amounts of horsepower and torque and every car must do 0-100 in under 3 seconds and it should accelerate from 60-110 in under 2 seconds seriously don’t understand the purpose of every car, this little pocket rocket is brilliant and Hyundai has aced it, it handles like a dream, and if I want to be a hooligan and drive like an absolute w⚓️ on the streets I’d get myself a RWD sport sedan that has around the 250-300kw+ mark.

I love my I20N, it's such a fantastic car. The fact Iver had it for neatly 9 months and it still makes me giggle like a child is a testament to what a fun car this is! The stock tyres are shite though 😅

Cracking video, mate. The i20N is a great little driver's package. The numbers might not break the record books but it feels near perfect on the road

I was thinking of going the opposite because I miss manual. Though the kona n is a one off, maybe a little more unique eventually.

Great day out. Our i30N was fantastic, one of the few new cars I'd actually spend money on. Old mate in the N sedan didn't have a great deal of skill haha I used to work at a Hyundai dealer and they were always great to work with. If you want an actual driver's car, grab one before they're all gone.

Great question but easy answer for me; the i20 N. Mainly because of those settings and adjustments available - it really becomes a multi-personality car and I reckon it would take me longer to become bored overall. Also the track warranty is a huge plus to me (but I understand it might be useless for some buyers who aren't planning to hit the track). And it sounds a bit better than the last Fiesta ST 3CYL in my opinion. Both cracking hot hatches though - I'd be happy with either 👍

Good review. About the car though, I don't understand why Hyundai prioritise gear position over speedo in their driver display. The speed number should be the promininent one with gear indicator the smaller number underneath. It would make things easier if you're quickly scanning readout when driving. No cop is going to pull you over for being in the wrong gear.
@drivingenthusiastaustralia5 күн бұрын
Thanks. Good points, but for a driver's car the gear position is usually more important - I think that's what they are going for here. Porsche usually puts gear position and rev counter front and centre as well.
@jvvoid5 күн бұрын
@@drivingenthusiastaustralia What you say is true but it doesn't make Porsche or anyone else right. Gear and tacho combination is for racing, not the road. How hard would it be to get one more optional configuration, it's an LCD screen, you should be able to customise it any way you want. A good driver always knows what gear they're in, in a manual anyway. For the road, it's got to be speed and tacho prominent, gear to the side or under - just like analogue has done for decades. I'd argue it to their face if I could. Cheers.
@ThePedroDB15 сағат бұрын
Maybe because the "N Mode" dash is designed for Track use, where gear is far more importan than speed and there are no Cops trying to pull you over. You can always use Sport for the road
@jvvoid15 сағат бұрын
@@ThePedroDB I want the tacho and a digital speedo prominent, that's it. It's not hard, it's one more menu option, they just don't do it. If I wanted to use Sport for the road I wouldn't have commented.

So, the "facelift" comprises Black Hyundai Badges, the same grill as the rest of the range and new 'Ioniq 5N style' wheels. It's not really a facelift, is it - since no other body panels have been changed. BlueLink has been around for some time. Ditto those headlights. My April '24 car has both... Oz and other countries have been lucky to have the i20N available from Dealers for a while longer but Hyundai can't be selling enough to make continued production viable. I suspect your time is numbered too and the i20N will be replaced by whatever the 'smaller 5N' is going to be (Hopefully not an Inster N...)

Is this an fwd or rwd?
@aussiefurbymogwaifan66215 күн бұрын
@bevis90 all ice Ns are front wheel drive I think. The ioniq 5 n is the only n that is is awd so far. The kona N ended up getting killed off because it was only fwd and not awd, so it couldn't do typical suv duties with the lack of awd - they fixed that up with the ioniq 5 N

Great video Brett and what a fantastic car. Hyundai really have to be congratulated with what they've achieved with this little pocket rocket and all their N cars really. I wonder do Hyundai put these cars that get flogged by you press/YT guys back in their dealer networks for sale as "ex Hyundai demo cars"? I went and test drove a Formentor out at Campbelltown a month or so ago and when I got home I thought I'd watch your review again and I couldn't believe it that it was the exact car you drove in your video. Wasn't keen on an ex press car that gets hammered from day one but was a fantastic drive that's for sure .. Cheers.

@malsmith2012 I have a feeling that all Dealer demo cars have a bit of a hard life. Thrashed by everyone who gets in them. Test drives are typically short and so they probably get thrashed before reaching operating temperature too. I tried the demo i20N at my local Dealer and purchased a brand new one just to be sure
