for me hyundai inster is just perfect in may ways, perfect interior and exterior size, perfect comfort for a daily driver, perfect range , perfect power, not that much, but not anemic like the Dacia Spring, perfect climate control with heat pump as standard, nice camera coverage for 360 degrees view, my wishes are to have tesla sentry like 360 recording of each camera compiled in one file, with events being highlighted and long term storage saved, and a bit of and Off-road model, with higher ground clearance, and slightly bigger wheels with a dual focus tire, that engages a smoother tire patch in the middle for efficient road driving, but have high traction tire tread on the side (near the tire wall) that engage in mud, but also if you deflate the tires a bit for off-road slip conditions, that for the drive tires at least... but that is the case for my near mountain + river + dirt road home , i also have an apartment, but with solar, i will mostly use a small electric car at the country forest home.

@@BrunoHeggli-zp3nl Too late with the likes of the BYD Seagull - they cannot get the cost down to the level they need to be. They tried approaching Renault to use their low cost Dacia/Zoe EV platform but it did not work out either. Also the rumblings of more cutting of costs and even laying off German workers and shutting a plant in Germany itself.

@@0ooTheMAXXoo0 tbh I'm pretty confused about the choices they've made , there's old tours through the factory with Elon available on KZbin to watch where he's like we can change such and such and be making a totally different car on the same assembly line in one day instead of weeks ,,, but for some reason just basically the same 5 cars for years n years now ,,, if anyone's equipped to bring out more body styles but very similar interiors it's Tesla over pretty much anyone else,, but nope same 5 cars🤷🤷🤷 ( Not including cyber truck or semi because those aren't even close to affordable)

Agreed. Tesla could have wiped out the competition with Model 2 by now. I instead it put its resources i to RoboTaxi which was a flop. A missed opportunity. If and when they eventually release Model 2, it would be a catch up to a congested market.

That ambient sound to warn pedestrians should turn off at higher speeds. I disabled that annoying noise on all three of my EVs. My Nissan Leaf, Chevy Bolt, and Ford Mach-E are all running silent now.

I really want this car with a LFP-battery instead of NCM-chemistry. In case of a crash / when the battery gets damaged, with NCM there's a high risk of fire, which isn't the case for LFP. Also LFP is cheaper, more environment-friendly and longer lasting (more cycles). I agree the name "Casper" should be used worldwide instead of Inster. When it comes to the humming sound, maybere there's an option to select different sounds somewhere in a sub-menu?

I wish they could get rid of the humming sound. And sadly the ev battery fire thing is a serious issue.

@@realchris The sound shouldn't be a problem at all, it's just software / could be updated and changed (hopefully Hyundai will offer different sounds for choice in the final version - having "any" artificial sound for EVs also is mandatory in Europe, so that pedestrians can hear EVs when they're slow). The technical solution for batteries also is there already, the companys just need to use LFP-batteries instead of nickel-cobalt-mangan. There are impressive "nail penetration tests" from BYD and others demonstrating the safety of LFP-chemistry.

The humming sound is a legal requirement. It is to let pedestrians know you are moving at low speeds in their vicinity. The sound itself doesn’t have to be the same though, but every electric car is required to emit a sound at low speed.

The motor humming is the lack of insulation around the motor or gears. Keeping costs down

Funny how this and the Stellantis (Citroen/Fiat) competitor can have real buttons for climate control and other functions while other more expensive options are going full touchscreen to ‘save money’. Volvo has been caught out badly because of this rush for touchscreens. I’m a small car buyer and I’ll probably be in the market for something like this soon. It’s all our small family really needs. I like the looks of this, kinda reminds me of 60s/70s Japanese/Korean cars.

Ventilation fan sounded a bit loud on top speed. But for $25k, that may be tolerable. Range is most likely enough for a 2nd vehicle (for city driving). The boot is hardly enough for the groceries with back seats up (about the same with Toyota Yaris). Driver display negates the need for HUD.

Just tear out all the stupid plastic plate and epp foam and buy self adhesive sticky felt for the metal protection. Much more space without the dumb plastic plate

I agree with the touch screen stuff on a car. I currently have a BMW X5 and it’s one solid piece across the whole dash of touch screen and struggle with it still. Miss buttons.

It's the car that Tesla should be making, but, if they did, it would have a terrible HMI - no hard buttons - drive-by-touchscreen - which is cheap, in every sense of the word. Plus, post January 2025, nice people don't want to be seen in a Tesla, so there's that… Nice review, though, and I'm buying one this week here in Spain, despite it costing more like $32k here (lots of taxes and greedy dealerships in Europe).

@@realchris We have BYD here in Australia, I am seeing many of them on the road locally.. To be honest, I haven't heard any horror stories as of yet. In the last few weeks i have noticed a new BYD model on the road which looks quite sporty and surprisingly like a Tesla (unsurprisingly).. I watched a few more of your vids including the one where Elon says that Tesla is basically worthless without FSD.. BYD is now putting out cars at 1/3 of the price of a Tesla which are looking stylish! Getting FSD right will not save Elon - there are many companies already doing AI way better than Tesla... FSD will not be the singularly patented and protected product that Edison sought to get out of Nikolai Tesla..... There was a time when you could create the Xerox, the Polaroid, the Band-aid. But FSD is not even one of those things, because you can't patent your solution to FSD, just your version of the software to create it.. and Elon's programmer's are not as good as the other AI players who can..

Sadly, everything I hear is that car won't ever make it to the US. It makes too much sense and is better/cheaper than other Hyundai EVs so it will hurt their other EV sales hence we won't get it -

Its completely idiotic that the ICE version of the Casper/Inster is not coming to Europe. It would probably sell very well. Many people want a small modern car but dont want an EV. This would make a fine replacement for my 2013 Skoda Citigo, but i'm never gonna buy an EV.

Yeah the ICE casper is super popular here. It's cheap too. I think you can pick up the cheapest for like $10k.

It has been announced that ordering in the Czech Republic will open in Q4 2024 with cars coming at the turn of the year, so I assume in Germany it should be similar. The sliding seats should be available in EU models, though not sure if all trims will have them. Regarding Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, they should be supported but not wirelessly.

When density is lower and bigger distances and not economically viable to run public transportation frequently, then and electric car is a good option. I need sometimes the car. Would prefer to have a good car sharing system available. For that also electric cars are very good as they are much lower maintenance and sustain much better the abuse of careless drivers. I am all for e- mobility
