That little "button" key hole integrated in the side marker is for the hard key hidden in the fob to open the door in case the battery dies and you can't open the doors from the outside with the e-Latch handles.

You should have viewed the online tutorials before you posted this review. The vents are adjusted through the touch screen and many of the functions on the steering wheel are explained in a few of the tutorials including Blue Cruise. Ford licenses the ECVT technology from Toyota.

@@KirkKreifelspeople could consider anything being adjusted through a screen is a bad idea. Doing anything while in control of a 1.5 ton plastic and steel brick is dangerous and a bad idea. Anything that requires you to take a hand or eye away from controlling a vehicle is dangerous. Is you are new to a vehicle and need to adjust climate controls physical controls can be just as dangerous as digital controls because either way you need to look where they are- same thing with adjusting bi-level air, etcetera. Anything that needs adjusted should be done at a stop- climate, navigation, radio, etcetera.

I have an "analog" 2022 Nautilus that doesn't have this new technology - it was difficult enough getting used to all the menus and functions of Sync 4. The only real upgrade provided by new generation Nautilus is Blue Cruise and perhaps the interior materials. The massive screen reminds me of early '80's tech - all flash, not really functional, and perhaps annoying. The jury is still out on build quality given that 95% of parts are sourced from Chinese suppliers (including the entire drive train) and assembled in a FoMoCo plant that is 50% owned by PRC. I think vehicle manufactures have some sort of technology "fetish" which makes vehicles overly complicated to operate and somewhat dangerous. Moreover, if Trump has his way, this generation of Nautilus will become too expensive and non-competitive. Lexus, BMW, and Mercedes build most of the SUV's for sale in the U.S. in North American plants.

It’s a shame that you didn’t take more time to get to know the product before filming and delivering your opinion. A little research would’ve answered a lot of the questions about what you didn’t know how to operate and would’ve prevented putting out anything that was false such as the bottom of the seat not massaging.

I had one as a rental recently. Wasn’t as equipped as this one but it did have the crazy dashboard. I thought it was decent. I did like it slightly better than the MDX I just rented, but it wasn’t as good as an Audi or Lexus.

I think this car looks great inside and out and I feel like Lexus is falling behind, currently Lexus interiors look a generation behind this tech wise and less luxurious. I feel like Lincoln and genesis have passed them up and Lexus is more on an Acura level now.

Lexus is a conservatieve brand...always was. Superb quality and fit and finish, way better than a Genesis or a Lincoln..... . Lexus may be dull or less gadgets, but quality wise best brand around.

@cheesehead91182 in Europe the RX was tested alongside Audi, Mercedes, Jaguar.....the Lexus was considered the best build car by far, best materials, best paint, best warranty, most efficient hybrid engine etc etc. The current Rx is compared with the old one much more understated regarding design. Personally I didn't like the last RX.

It is a vehicle that accomplishes its goal. Everything doesn't have to be sporty and fun to drive, some people just want to be comfortable. That is why it won SUV of the year. The square section on the side is for the emergency key, which some cars put in the door handle and the air vents are controlled through the main console screen. Some people Haye driving and just enjoy comfortable cars like Lexus built at one time. Lexus is not known for sporty BMW style vehicles, they are known for comfortable and reliable vehicles.

Kirk, there are so many add on costs on cars from tag and title, dealer prep etc. You can't compare prices of new Nautilus to other cars, and there are also sometimes discounts at the end of the year, and some of the discounts are available on financing and leasing, and/or add on costs to both. I suppose you could try and compare a cash "out the door" price for different cars though a dealer may not readily give you that info, and if he/she does, sometimes it changes when you do the paperwork and there are add ons. It can be very difficult to get "out the door" price so you can really compare among different brands of new vehicles. The red Nautilus that you cite for $50K; I doubt you could even get a new Corsair "out the door" for $50K or much less.

The interior looks like all those new Chinese cars that are coming out including that smaller non-circular steering wheel. Those 40 inch long screens along the dash are complete overkill. The customizing of the settings is just overwhelming and distracting. This car is going to be an electrical nightmare, definitely not gonna last that long without problems. For $80k, a pass!
