I've been waiting for the coupe version! Now that this is here, hopefully the GLC 350e Coupe is right around the corner.
@garyclark674721 күн бұрын
I agree that there should be a non-key up feature that you could go into settings and invoke a option to let it recharge the battery so it would pass EPA with the greatest requirements but yet still be efficient, especially in regards to cities who oppose cleaner, air rules and regs when it comes to automobiles. Which mostly happens in Europe, but will be coming to a town near you. I’m sure. Without that and regenerative breaking while I appreciate the range it takes it down the list as far as my consideration purchase. 12:24

Petrolhead but love my EREV (i3 REx). 115k miles so far. ZERO issues and saving $2000 annually on energy. Having a ICE onboard makes an EV anxiety-free. The ICE on this MB will likely live a very easy life. It will stay dormant except primarily for long trips where it will purr away almost unnoticed.

I have often said that if I was a practical human being and needed a daily, I would buy a used i3 and drive it til the wheels feel off while keeping the miles of my fun car.

Leases better than a normal GLC at the moment. That 7500 federal plus local incentives ie NY is 500. Also looking at a decent discount through brokers 9-10%

Why did you back to hybrid from Tesla
@PhilT99315 күн бұрын
@@MJ-dg6us I didn't like the way Tesla has removed radar and other sensors from all of its cars. I have found the camera only system to not work that well. I like lots of redundant safety systems working together. I wanted to switch from a car to an SUV and didn't want to buy another Tesla. There are other great EV options, but the DC Fast Charging network in North America, apart from the Tesla Supercharging Network, is far from being adequate for the growing EV market. The great EV-only range in this GLC 350e will take care of 90% of my daily usage and the gas engine is always there for backup whenever I need it. We will see how it works out.

US$9.3 M!!!!! Saw the actual car in Monterey as they had it on display for Car Week prior to the London sale. It was an alloy bodied car - one of 29 made. Love me a Gullwing, but I would cheerfully drive the steel bodied version and save some money for a Fiero:)

Mercedes pricing is absurd these days. Go on their configurator and they make practically everything you can think of an option to click on to add more money. Some of the things they charge extra for are honestly kind of insulting for vehicles at their price points.

Well, it’s MERCEDES-BENZ my friend! It’s the performance all around, the prestige... Folks that buy NEW Mercedes have the spare dough. They’ll drive it for 4 to 5 yrs... Hell, 3 yrs tops, then get another brand new Benz trading in the other for $25K and be satisfied.

My wife almost bought this but went with the 2025 X3 M50 instead. The sweet B58 won her over vs 4 cyl turning on/off, having to plug it in. Questionable savings in ev mode after accounting for increased vehicle cost/complexity and elctricity costs.

Are you sure no PHEV charges while driving? I thought the wrangler 4xe has a mode that charges the battery while driving.
@MotoManTV24 күн бұрын
On this one, yes. The Porsche Cayenne in Sport Plus mode will do some charging, but not what you want. This is not a hard and fast rule, rather, a way to improve EPA figures.

@ I want the best bang for my buck. This isn’t exactly a mini. They buy for the badge and nowadays you don’t really need to. Others vehicles offer the basically the same or more for the money. Don’t need to pay the extra money for the maintenance. The Mazdas also look way better
@MotoManTV24 күн бұрын
The Mazda is kind of a 'tweener' in size. Great to drive - ONLY with the Inline 6 - but for the kind of people that are looking for a practical vehicle like that, the Palisade/Telluride (even with the boring V6) is a far better choice.

Are the batteries Chinese made? I wouldn't touch 'em if they are.
@YYZ-SRQ26 күн бұрын
how much is the battery going to cost when you have to replace it in 5-7 years? I think it will be an eye-watering price. When you look at the complete cost analysis of +$10,000 to get the hybrid and then the cost of replacing the battery or selling your car at a fire sale price far less than the ICE version down the road, I would rather continue to pay for gasoline than getting the minimal amount of fuel savings. In other words I feel it is a complete fail

The non existent mandate comes up again?
@MotoManTV24 күн бұрын
Greg, I always appreciate your viewership, discussions and feedback, but respectfully suggest you spend some time understanding government 'carrot and stick' schemes to incentivize desired outcomes because it is highly unlikely every OEM around the world participating in US, EU and CA markets all of a sudden decided to make highly complex cars that rely on a yet to be realistic infrastructure for most with slim to zero profit margins only to sell in small volumes for years to come.
@gregkramer558823 күн бұрын
@@MotoManTV I do understand that although I am an electrical engineer by background and not an economist. There is no doubt that governments in many countries including ours are trying to influence us. The proper word for that is not mandate. It may be mandated in the future of course.

Seems like this channel is winding down…views are minimal, comments seldom engaging anymore, and filming yourself while being driven doesn’t come across well imo as a regular viewer. It’s, like you’re showing off. Why can’t you just sit in the back and talk while it’s not moving. Much better when ur driving or stationary. I’ll still watch, ur part of my routine, but I definitely multitask now while watching (more just listening) and, although I like the car selection and insights, the content has been going downhill for a while now.
