I'm assuming it has the DDCT transmission ? I'm guessing because of that massive launch delay. You have to at minimum use sport mode for acceleration test. It will raise the rpm at a stop to eliminate that lag because it's a automated manual basically.
@DMCarReviewsАй бұрын
@@Darkvirgo88xx The sport mode is called "go kart" mode here. Also, no matter what I tried, including traction off, it would not allow me to build rpms off the line.

Honestly I used to have a 2010 Mini Cooper S Convertible I loathe it, because they dog the car to death after 91,000 miles it decided to burn oil me and my family were constantly fixing it, including a trip to Pensacola, Florida to fully fix it, so yeah typical BMW garbage but otherwise I love the Mini Cooper’s but the interior is ehhh too much for me but otherwise very nice everything else, Mini startup sounds on this model mock BMW a lot unlike previously where it used to be different anyways Mini is basically BMW’s version of Honda and Toyota mixed with Volkswagen mostly and it has the experience of BMW and Audi all at the same time mixed with modern day Mazda and Kia/Hyundai but nicer otherwise! 😁

The stuttery skips in the infotainment system is not jiving with the historic characteristics of previous mini infotainment systems. The lack of physical hvac controls but instead having to touch lifeless glass is pretty lame. No shift knob? Also way lame. Also, the countryman being the “suv” of the mini lineup now being a dual clutch rather than a torque converter transmission is another downer. Unless dual clutch transmissions have something new going on, even Hyundai/kia have ditched the dual clutch system and gone back to torque converter units because of their potential clunkiness when doing low speed city maneuvering or especially even the most mild of off-tarmac driving on hills or small obstacle. I’ve yet to see a real test to see what this new countryman can actually do. It is called the “country” man, let’s see it do country things.
@DMCarReviews20 күн бұрын
If manufacturers stuck to their "roots", we would still be driving cars with 4-speed automatics. The infotainment is amazing in this Mini. As far as dual clutches, lots of Hyundai's use them, like the Elantra N, Sonata N, Santa Fe 2.5, etc. The performance of this Mini is much better than the previous generation.
@stevey50020 күн бұрын
@@DMCarReviews Sticking with a torque converter transmission doesn’t mean sticking to their roots. The previous gen F series transmission was a fantastically refined 8 speed unit. Modern torque converters with high speed clutch lockup can be fantastic for street performance such as the legendarily good zf8hp unit in the Alfa Romeo units, bulletproof too. Sure, Hyundai still uses dual clutch in the street oriented performance models because it makes sense to do so. All of their other models that have potential of seeing dirt, snow, hills, and potential obstacles ditched the dual clutch system due to poor maneuverability in such situations and I don’t blame them, others running dual clutch have the same issues, too. It limited what the car can do. If we’re going to have a big blown up SUV of a mini, let it be an SUV of a mini. It completely takes the country out of countryman.
