When you talk, I feel like you are doing a travel monologue. Interesting and well done. I play the older Mizuno JPX 921 hot metal irons. I love them and probably will play them until I die or quit playing. Good review from the McCleerys.

Swing is looking good Jim. Did Robin wake up early for this test?

Great swings Jim. Love to see a possible Hot Metal Pro vs Dynapwr Forged comparison.

Great video. I love my 923!! I’m using 105 regular. Would a heavier shaft help my pull? I feel the lighter shaft causes left misses. I am muscular build at 55. 7 iron is 75 mph to 82 if i stomp on it.

Any recommendations to blend jpx hot metal HL at the lower end - 9, PW and LW.. For shorter control and some pitch or chip shots? Seems the hot metal HL is less favorable to chip or hit less than fuller shots. How would one account for Loft differences between HL and other 2 models…

Seems like forever that I have been searching for a replacement for my old Mizuno MX-20s which were the best irons I have ever played. A video on the Mizuno website claimed the JPX-923 forged was the model I should look at. I also noticed they have these "Hot Metal" irons. What exactly is a Hot Metal iron? I'm guessing these are not forged since Mizuno has a reputation as one of the best brands in that area and wouldn't need to resort to gimmicky marketing to sell clubs.

Hot metal is a moniker, for a particular metal used in the making of the iron. It is chromoly, the hot metal and hot metal pro are a cast club were the others are a forged metal. The new 925 have forged components in the irons

No more measuring the specs to see how accurate the build was ??

Hello Sir, how would you compare these to the Zipcore XL irons? I know you were a fan of those irons.

I think the new hot metals will go further and be just as accurate

Great to see you on the course again. I am gaming the jpx 923 HL and love the flight and stopping power. Currently playing off 17 hc and like the look and feel of the Hot Metal Pro. Is there any real point of changing something that works so well for me as it is ? Love your content and no-nonsense attitude. Keep up the good work and best wishes from Ireland 🇮🇪

Honestly if you not worry about sound. I would keep the 923s

Jim…your irons appear to be maybe 1/2” short due to the ‘girth ‘effect (***)
