And the offense is looking 1000x better than it has this year.

As a Patriots fan I don't think Carter is a bad pick at all. We really just need an influx of talent at any position besides QB. Will Johnson to pair with Gonzo would be amazing, Tet would be the first WR1 on this team since that one week of Antonio Brown lmao, and not to helmet scout, but Penn State keeps churning out elite edge prospects (Chop has really come along the last couple weeks), and Carter looks like the next in line. Every fan keeps talking about "we need offensive line," and that's true, but that isn't the only need on this football team. No reason to reach for OL when there are other needs that can be addressed.

Believe it or not. I have pondered on the idea that the BPA for the Patriots at #4 could actually be a defensive player. Abdul Carter could be the right complement to Keion White. That also goes for Will Johnson or even Mason Graham, but definitely not a RB.

I think even round 3 could be high for a CB for us. DLine and WR are our two biggest needs and LB is a big one too. I could see either DT, Edge, or WR in the first, WR or Dline in round 2 depending on what the first pick was, and then BPA from there on. Graham, Carter, Pearce, even Jalon Walker could all be defensive picks for us, but personally I still want to get Bryce a true WR1 in Luther Burden

Hawks going oline Oline is going to be the best move for immediate impact IMO but I've opened up a lot to the idea of getting a guy like Starks or whoever MacDonald thinks is a difference maker. I think this defense might be 1 more impact player at safety/LB to push this defense into elite territory so if they wanted to make a move for a guy I could be down for it. We'd need to spend at least the next 3 picks on Oline tho and pray someone worksout

Yea it's super easy to replace and a weak starting safety easier to protect than a weak edge rusher or weak cb1 or 2 for that matter its the guards of defense they matter but if u had to pick a spot on ur team to be weak it's safety Kyle Hamilton is a "great" safety their defense is horrendous bills lose some great safety play this year they're 6th in passing defense safety isn't useless but it's the least valuable

As a Pats fan I reserve judgement on how I feel about the Carter pick until after the B10 Championship game. After which I will see it as a welcome change of pace or the stupidest thing I have even seen. I am currently leaning towards a welcome change of pace after looking at some of his plays. I would lean more towards Tet still, but if we pick up a WR in free agency going with a fun game disrupting defender would not be the worst thing ever.

This is why I hate mock drafts that don’t include free agency and trades. Patriots could address WR and T with signing Higgins who is not going back to Cincinnati and Boles to be a bridge guy. Try to trade the 1st pick to a QB-needy team and try to get another 2nd rounder in the return. Draft Will Johnson in the 1st to form arguably the best young corner duo in the league with Gonzo and draft Josh Simmons in the 2nd who is hurt and can sit behind Boles to get healthy and Tyler Booker with the other 2nd they hope to pick up with that trade down. Boom. X receiver, a reliable bridge guy at LT while you have the younger corner stone waiting in the wings getting healthy and learning and is a first round talent that slipped, and Booker who is also arguably the top pure G in the draft. We just shored up the O-line and got an awesome weapon for Maye all in one offseason. Its not rocket science
