Really excited for this year’s draft. Last year was the first draft I dove deep into and I love that there isn’t a set first overall. At this point you could make an argument for any of those top 4 or 5 to go first. It’s going to be really interesting to see how the second half of the season develops.

Great conversation! Thank you, guys. I love Eric Nilson! I have him at 26th and would not be surprised if he climbs a few more spots on my board. I love Drott too. What's your take on Mikkel Eriksen? I enjoyed every single viewing I've had so far, so shifty, so intense, and soooo young.

I think Erikson is fun as well, but I really haven't seen an NHL level guy there. I think he's a great European pro player one day with the skill level he's got, just hasn't moved the needle much in the games I've seen in a way that I think works from here. Low pace, low energy, a centre who doesn't have much physicality, and he's a very possession heavy player without a ton of strength on the puck and not much of a frame to develop around. Just a small guy I haven't been able to get behind yet.

@@Scouching That's interesting because I have a completely opposite read 😅 He was finishing his checks (lots of them, despite his size), was always in movement, first on the puck. And I love the fact that he is like 2 days away from being eligible in 2026. Maybe I just watched his very best games 😅

@@Briserlaglace-podcast I agree he's a check finisher and he's definitely wired the right way, I just feel like the bar for players like him is really, really high to crack the NHL and I'm not sure he can get to that point is all. I think he could be a guy I want on my National League or SHL roster in a couple years no doubt though. National team mainstay that might just not have enough juice for the NHL. Mattias Trettenes vibes kinda.

@@Scouching Yeah I unfortunately think you're right. I'd still take a chance on him I think. 🙂

sweden U18s playing the older USHL guys in WJAC, was a better scouting opportunity for those guys, than most other competitions. in the final, the swedish kids had to really think and adapt against stronger opponents to stay in the game. you wont see that in the U18s worlds.
@Scouching5 күн бұрын
On the contrary, both Canadian teams were comparatively terrible relative to Sweden which to me makes the age differences a little moot.

@@Scouching hockey canada not sending competitive teams, shouldnt take away anything from games between the teams that were. i thought that gold medal game was very interesting to watch with one team being one year older and using that to their advantage.
