I have owned two Armada’s the 08 Sv model and the 2011 SL. I love the ride quality and dependability. I ran the odometer up to 169k on the 08 and traded it for a 2011 in 2017. The 2011 is currently running like a new ride, I changed the front suspension at 150k and other than that the only parts that I’ve replaced is the radiator, started, and TCM other than regular maintenance it’s an amazing vehicle. The vehicle is currently at 213k and runs and drives like a dream, I drive it daily for work and travel across the state of Texas to conduct audits. I will purchase a newer model at some point maybe the 23 or 24.

Great coverage as always. I love these detailed segments when yall talk to the designers. They did a great job on the Armada, especially the Pro4x. While these types of videos are enjoyable I also think it’s important that journalists drill into these manufacturers about, not only their successes, but their failures. Nissan has yet to own up to their peeling paint issues, leaving many owners with an expensive problem with no recourse. I wish TFL would bring these issues up too. It’s well documented, and Nissan will not take responsibility for it. Why aren’t you/we talking about it? Are journalists afraid to make these manufactures upset by calling them out? Worried they won’t get invited to events or get vehicles to review? Something needs to be done.

Great job, Tommy and Andre! I enjoyed the analysis and the interview. The new Armada is what the new Sequoia should have been from a packaging standpoint. We have a 2nd gen Sequoia and were so disappointed in the 3rd gen with the solid rear axle, the awful 3rd row, and the storage solution. I'm intrigued by the Armada, but on pricing it will need to be a significant savings over the GM twins and Ford. Nissan has had many quality issues with the past generations across product lineups and needs to out-compete based pricing and features to regain their footing (at least until improved quality is proven).

Modern X-terra is still on the road outside USA, named Nissan TERRA (X-terra for some market specially in middle east), a 4runner size truck/suv came from D23 nissan NAVARRA platform, sometimes called a "midsize Patrol". Now 3rd gen ARMADA is rebadge 7th Gen Global Y63 PATROL, sameway with Previous generation armada, as Y62 Patrol, the ONLY "Armada" is the ugly 1st gen with the Nissan Titan Platform. Armada is still in the market because Patrol have huge market globaly, it can sustain the nameplate generations by generations, market is so high, and it is so iconic for nissan brandname, now what is the market for pickup TITAN? none. then what is the reason why would nissan bring back the titan or put new model for titan? maybe nissan thinking twice.

@davep29452 ай бұрын
Okay, unless you're in a different market there weren't any small diesels in the U.S. unless you consider the Titan XD's Cummins. And their CVT's were bad but their trucks have never had them and have been equally reliable on average as anything Toyota has ever put out. You're comparing apples and oranges and determining not only that the extremely reliable apples were as bad as the oranges but also that the oranges haven't improved drastically.

As much as it seems Americans love big SUV's we really don't buy them in as large of numbers as auto reviewers seem to think. If you add up all brands selling such vehicles and all version of each, including allow the Range Rover as a full size, in 2023 a total of just 464,931 full size suv's were sold in the U.S. That's 10 brands and 13 main and extended version's from those brands. That's an average of just 35,763 from each unique nameplate and an average of 46,493 per brand. By far the most popular was the Chevy Tahoe followed by the Yukon with somewhat more than 110,000 and over 82,000 (between Yukon and Yukon XL sales combined) sales respectively. So the vehicle with the lowest tow rating of the bunch sells the most. So, yes, while people do tow with these things massive towing capacity is hardly a major concern for buyers. And most folks, even so called truck guys, still think payload is what you can throw in the bed so not many concern themselves with payload or overloading it. People don't care much about the things car review sites think they do when buying a new car. Does it look good? Is it comfortable? Does it "feel" powerful enough? Did my daddy and his daddy own twenty seven vehicles from this manufacturer? Is it the right shade of blue? Does it have the giant screens I'll tire of in three weeks but still brag to my friends about? Those are the things that sell such vehicles if, that is, one can afford them anyway. Teenagers and adults with teenager mentality sit around on the internet and try to prove their favored brand is better than another brand they've never owned because one has 25 more horsepower on paper and 100 pounds more tow capacity. How both vehicles actually handle such a load is irrelevant to them. One because they'll never own either and two because they'll never tow anything their 1997 4 cylinder Tacoma couldn't already tow anyway. I don't mind guys talking about the numbers but pretending the numbers matter that much to buyers is silly. Oh, this one has 32 cubic feet of cargo space versus 34 on this other SUV, Barb. Yep, lets buy the one with 34 cubic feet sight unseen because obviously it's vastly larger. No, people go to the dealership and look with a very poorly trained eye and determine all their stuff will fit in one versus the other no matter what the rated numbers might be. The only numbers that matter to ninety five percent of buyers are the numbers in the price. The only opinion that matters to them is their own and maybe uncle Steve who gives terrible advice but he "knows" cars. Even cars that are brand new and he has no experience with.

So Excited! Looking forward to more videos on the Armada. I presently own an older (2013) Dodge Durango which I love but it only has a V-6 with 3500# tow rating. Next spring/summer I want to upgrade. I presently have to use my husbands Toyota Tundra to tow anything. I need to tow a 7,500# horse trailer, a 6,000# cargo trailer & a 2-seater UTV on a trailer. I want ALOT of cargo space (I have 2 large dogs + camera gear). I also need the ability to car camp occasionally while taking on/off road photography trips. As a petite female, the suspension lowering to get in/out + load cargo (aka: big dogs) sounds fantastic!! I have looked at ALL the new SUV's and have ruled out most of them (due to price). I am hoping the new Off-Road Armada might be the answer to my problem. I am hoping to be under $60,000, so I hope Andre is close on his price estimate! Really looking forward to seeing more Armada test videos!! Please don't forget, women need off-road SUV's that tow just as much as men. There are alot of horsewomen in this country that do trail riding or other equestrian activities but still need to move kids, dogs, bags of feed, etc. I feel the SUV market focus's alot on soccer mom's but forgets about all the dog, horsey or goat mom's needing to haul & tow - usually down bumpy dirt roads!
