Footprint wise, the QST 92 and last years SA are almost identical-longer tip rise in SA; would think this follows suit. With metal, would this be a tad more stability than the QST?

Yes, we even talked about including the Santa Ana 92 in the same comparison video as the QST 92, but there were just too many skis. There's also less taper in the Santa Ana, making it hook into the turn with more precision than QST, and yes, the metal does make it feel damper from tip to tail.
