Polaris Ski rubbers align the skis "toe down", that causes the skis to wear in the spot you indicated, pretty sure it's all polaris skis, unless they use different rubbers for the Gripper ski. Many videos on "shimming" the polaris skis to combat the heavy toe wear by lifting the toe of the ski slightly.. Beautiful Assault, I also love the color/paint combo. I hope we get the chance to ride the Abitibi canyon this year, watched your video, setting up signage and volunteering. Nice to see someone who truly raises the sport by action and setting a good example.

Amazing looking Sled Mike. I'm a Ski-Doo guy but I think that's the best looking sled on snow. Even in the 90s, Polaris had AWESOME looking sleds.

Good video Mike. A couple of other small nice features is the under the seat storage, you can fit 4 quart size bottles of oil which is nice for long overnight trips, the ease of use to remove the hood and side panels, the belt and spark plug storage are all very nice features that are a nice touch that you don't get with a Doo. I still think a deep dive into Ridecommand would make for a good video. Create routes on the Ridecommand website on your computer, change the color of your routes, search for POI, etc then show how it syncs with the sled. So many people don't know how this works and you could make a great educational video. You can also show the land information and see where public land is for off trail riding, it shows snow coverage amount, what trails are in good shape, etc. Spend some time with it and it will blow you away, but again it would make for a good video.

The ski going on tough the truck is to get a 2x4 or a jack under the other side of the ski. It brings up that bushing more. And the standard gauge can also be controlled by the handlebar controls and adjust the smart warmers temperature for each heat setting too. Standard gauge also can change background color to be either red or blue. Just so others know too.

That's good to know! Thanks for the additional info.

Looking forward to hearing how the 9R performs...

I love my assaults and have had 3 of them since 2021. The one thing that bothers me and I can see it on your 9R is the top of the tunnels always come scratched brand new. That’s super annoying when purchasing a new sled. Great overview video.

Biggest downside to the assault for trail riding is the severely underdamped rebound in the rear shocks. If getting them revalved isn't in the future, having them rebuilt and switching to 10w oil makes a massive improvement. The heavier weight oil and light duty torsion springs (it's sprung like a dumptruck stock) really transforms the ride. The Hygear linkage also makes a big difference, for relatively cheap.

Nice looking sled. Could I ask about the sled lift on this video. What make is it?
All polaris trail skis need to be shimmed. If not they wear like you mentioned. I have a 600 axys with 8000 miles ski shimmed from day one. They are still perfect.

How has this 9R been on plugs or any issues with the clutch bolt yet?
@sledaddicz2 күн бұрын
9R has been flawless. 0 issues. Just broke 1000 kms on it. Cheers, Jesse

Probably won’t like the fuel mileage on it.

We will find out. Stay tuned!

Are you saying the 9r is hard on fuel compared to the 850, or just drank the skidoo coolaid? My 850 assault will do 220+ kms to a tank moderate - hard trail riding. Better range than any skidoo I ride with. Better oil mileage than the etec too, although the etecs don't smoke as much.
