2025 Puzzling Challenges - Thrift Puzzle Streak Episode 1

Oh this is so much fun. About 40% of my puzzles are thrifted. I have yet to find one of them with a missing piece. People sure take pride in donating puzzles that are in good condition and complete. Now, I have seen puzzle lids with notes saying “missing 3 pieces”. They let you know. I am definitely on board with this new puzzle challenge. Glad you didn't put a time limit on this. I have a pile of new puzzles I want to work through first... but I do have a shelf full of thrift store puzzles that are waiting for something like this to be extra fun. Thanks for the idea.

I couldn't afford to be a puzzler if I bought new puzzles all the time. I thrift for puzzles a lot and do quite a few of them. Our local thrift store staff do some of the puzzles before they go out for sale and if its complete they indicate that. I have also gotten lucky and found brand new puzzles for just a few dollars. All puzzles are generally $4 or less unless its a box set. I did 67 puzzles last year and I would say a good 50 or so were thrifted and only a couple of puzzles were missing pieces and only a few. This sounds like a great challenge that I i will beging soon and see how far I get. Thanks for keeping puzzling fresh with new challenges.

I buy half of my puzzles from thrift stores. Only a few had 1-3 pieces missing. I buy most from Amazon. I now have 375 puzzles. I need to buy metal shelves to organize them in my basement. Love your video!!

Love this. I’m currently working on a 1000 piece thrift store puzzle and it’s my first time attempting 1000 pieces solo. I’m dreading getting to the end and finding a piece missing , but this challenge makes it more adventurous.

I can relate to that dread when doing thrift store puzzles but then I get such a thrill when I find out it's complete. Hopeful the one you're doing will have all the pieces. Have fun!

His is a great idea for a challenge - a fun way to celebrate the thrift puzzles we do. I’ve just begun a new 2000 piece from Cobble Hill (Anton Seder) but I’ll definitely switch over to a thrifted puzzle next!

Excellent! My father likes to go to the Goodwill “treasure hunting” and he buys me puzzles all the time! I have waaaay too many thrifted puzzles…I will be doing this challenge for a long time! 😂

This is really fun!! I would say 80% of my puzzles are thrifted and I can tell you I once had a streak of 3 that had missing pieces hahahaha

This will be fun.I quess most of my puzzles are unverified.Thrifted by myself or my sister.Library puzzle swap or given to me.I always take a photo of the completed puzzles.At the end of the year I count and see how many I completed and how many had missing pieces. Fun to see how long my streak is.
