I rented a 2024 limited longhorn with the split tailgate and I must say that is one of the best inventions or ideas that truck companies had came up with in a long time being able to reach further into the bed without you know having a climb in because the split functionthat it’s phenomenal

U didn't mention the NEW ZF 8 speed transmission! Thats the most important change in 20yrs!
@TheMoparJunkie2 күн бұрын
The Ram 2500 and 3500 now come standard with the new ZF Powerline 8-speed 8AP1075 automatic transmission when equipped with the Cummins engine. Meanwhile, Ram 2500 and 3500 models with the HEMI continue to use the ZF 8HP75-LCV, a more robust version of the 8-speed transmission also found in the Hurricane-powered Ram 1500. Additionally, Ram Chassis Cab models offer two other variants of the Powerline transmission, tailored for both the HEMI and Cummins engines.

Went to the show yesterday and immediately to the dealer afterwards. I’ve been checking with them for months. I was hoping by the time the show started that I’d be able to order my truck. I want a 3500, hemi in that new red color. Neither the hemi or red are available yet. Everything has to be diesel and either black, silver or white 😡 come on Ram, get it together. I’ve been waiting for months to order my truck. Anyone else experience this? My sales person even texted her Chrysler truck group contact and he didn’t know when they’d be available either.

Don’t care for the 50” TV inside the cab. 8.4” screen is more than enough. The power and torque is good with the 8spd. Don’t limit us to 3.42 gears again like y’all did in the past. It failed for a reason. Let us choose our 3.55, 3.73, 4.10s gears that we want. Ram needs to stop trying to sell us something we don’t want. The people know what we want our truck to do. Don’t try and charge us $100k for a $60k truck either our you will continue to fail and these trucks will continue to sit on your lots like Ford, Chevy and Ram for over 2 years.

Totally agree, but you know this is 2025 & there's apparently no such thing as too many screens. I want a "truck" to be utilitarian & used for a purpose. The one thing Ram/Stellantis got right was the ZF 8 speed tranny. The engine got some good upgrades too, but time will tell on the hyd. lifters & "CP4 style" fuel pump. I guessing they went back to 3.42 gears because of the deep 1st/2nd gears on the ZF vs the taller geared 68RFE & maybe a slight MPG improvement for unloaded highway criuising. My 22 standard output Cummins has been great so far. Fingers crossed that they cam/lifter will be under warranty when & if the go.

I’m getting a 2024 2500 tradesman Cummins what do yall think ?
@Arexodius3 күн бұрын
I think the 2025 Tradesman may serve you better. Think about the many reliability (and some performance) upgrades of the Cummins, and the new 8-speed with the extra low first gear and the more economy minded axle ratio. You lose almost no capability, and you get a better overall towing machine. There's also more standard equipment on the 2025 Tradesman than on the previous model years. Much better visibility with the LED headlights too. And the updated electrical wiring improves the Uconnect system even on the lower trims. A 2025 Tradesman with a couple of amenities like heated seats and the like is probably the best value. Whatever you do, get an EGR filter solution from FASS and you should be golden. Banks Power have some really good performance/efficiency/reliability upgrades you may wanna check out. And when they have them out for the newer Cummins, you should consider swapping to Speed of Air pistons. Those are a game changer for the internal combustion engine industry!

There are some minor exterior and interior changes for 2025, most of the changes lie under the body.

Does ram 5500 cab chassis trucks do they get the new high output motor?
Chassis cab models have de-tuned engines for their fleet customers, where it's all about long term reliability and fuel economy. They're supposedly also better on emissions, since they all have that "certified clean idle" badge.

15 year old cab on display of a modern auto show looks strange
@DarkHorse083 күн бұрын
Yet it will be the best performing HD and still the best looking truck in its class. People who actually use these trucks for what they are meant for don’t care about the “15 year old” cab. 0-60 in 6.9 seconds unloaded and the max loaded 0-60 time has been cut by 6 seconds from the previous model. A rocket.
@shauncameron80423 күн бұрын
Wont buy one. Not competitive enough. Ive been a ram guy forever. Next truck will be the f450 h.o. have the 3500 dually now. 500hp and 1250 tq on the ford. Ram is continuously falling behind.
@foreshee103 күн бұрын
I've got a 24 f450 when loaded heavy the power is not much difference. My Ram was 3500 dually 21 h.o 4.10 gear. I pull the same 44' gooseneck. Max out 34,000 pounds behind the truck.

Don’t forget that fords are ugly as hell
@DarkHorse083 күн бұрын
And Ford is continuously falling apart because of people wanting more and more while losing reliability. Ram HD is the better working truck. Wait for the video reviews. You’ll see. Modern society’s short attention span is killing everything. Stick to what’s reliable.
@doomsdaydiesel3 күн бұрын
@@foreshee10 Dodge said that the Aisin could only put down ~59% of the max power in certain gears because of the transmission. The ZF8 allows for 100% power output in all 8 gears. The Furd and GM are also both detuned currently depending on the transmission gear. The ZF8 might feel the most powerful if you're really getting a full 100% power potential all the time.

I would love to see Ram step up into the 4500 class with a pickup. Their Ram 4500 package is a beast, would be great to see it from the factory with a pickup box.
