the door bins are covered in felt? Its Flocked. WHAT IS FLOCKING? The flocking process involves applying short monofilament fibres, usually nylon, rayon or polyester, directly on to a substrate that has been previously coated with an adhesive. The diameter of the individual flock strand is only a few thousandths of a centimeter and ranges in length from 0.25 - 5 mm.

Neat car but too expensive for a good spec with large battery, which it probably will need due to aero. Unsure if you can get the typical -20% VAG prices or if Skoda is also already using the stupid direct-dealer-sales model.

Skip it. Pick up a Hyundai or Kia with 5 and 7 year and warranties. Or save even more and get a second hand Hyundai/Kia as the warranties are transferable.

Longer warranty, at least in some parts of the world, increases the cost of ownership. For example, here in Lithuania yearly warranty servicing for me personally was at least double the price of the same service in a shop of my choice after the warranty expired. And this was ok, actually, because my car is cheap and low-key. The difference can be much higher. I understand perfectly this may be different for those who don't own the cars they drive and are instead leasing them (a bad choice, in my humble opinion, even if it's so popular in some countries), but I bought mine outright and stopped servicing it "properly" as soon as 3 year warranty expired. All cars i owned prior to that were second hand, and I never had any serious issues. I lost the 12 year corrosion warranty, but couldn't care less about it. With that said, I completely agree that Kia/Hyundai make superior electric vehicles AND they have character which Škoda seems to be devoid of by definition. Even Dacia are more interesting than them. In Europe, there are plenty worthwhile EV options outside of VWG - Opel, Citroen, Peugeot, Fiat, Jeep, Mini, Renault, DS, Smart, Volvo, Cupra and even Alfa Romeo or Lancia.
