As overpriced as it is, it is actually impressive how aerodynamic it tests in wind tunnels. That being said it’s not quite up to the level of full aero bikes, but it’s super possible to get it down to the mid 5kg range really easily if you buy frame only.

I don't think there is no need to go for Sworks. Tarmac SL 8 Pro is already a fantastic bike.

I'll rather just buy the Sl8 frame and build it up. I like the Canyon aeroad too but I feel like the Sl8 is better comfort wise especially 60+ mile rides and bike shop support.

Totally agree. SL8 frame is so well engineered. It has both stiffness and comfort which is far better than canyon. So I don’t think tarmac price is crazy

Have a look at DT Swiss wheels or Swiss Side wheels. In my opinion they do excellent carbon wheels.

Specialized is the luxury brand at this point. They charge it, and their customer base pays it. I think they make some of the best bikes but whether or not they make THE best bikes they definitely charge for it. If I had to choose between evils though I prefer Specialized charging for their performance and name as opposed to the italian brands which charge for their legacy as much as they charge for their performance.
