The thing holding Subaru back today are the small engines. This car should have either a turbo four or a six.

It appears the European embargo on the new hybrid has been lifted. The one thing that stood out was NO SPARE TIRE. There was no mention of a collaboration with Toyota but there was no complaint about performance. Most of the external badging focused on e-BOXER. The rear floor height has not changes and the 2nd exhaust plug has not been used. Fuel economy averages 7l I ordered a new Forester this month after considering a CRV and RAV4 hybrid. Most reviewers in North America simply don't understand the Subaru drivetrains and the focus of their operation. Subaru provides full-time AWD where Toyota, Honda, and Mazda DO NOT. These vehicles are operating in FWD only until slip is detected and will the hybrids will usually operate in AWD up to 35 MPH and revert to FWD. If you need true AWD, there is a big difference. Notice how manufacturers give American version larger engines and horsepower compared to the same model in Europe? How do the European families cope (sarcasm)? The Forester engine functions much like a small diesel with stronger mid-range performance and not so great off the line acceleration. 0-60 in 8-10 seconds is normal in Europe for a car in the class of the Forester. Hybrids are great as I recently rented a Toyota Crown sedan and averaged 47 MPG. It was comfortable, quiet, and felt upscale while being AWD. A recent magazine stated to recuperate the increased cost of the RAV4 hybrid over the gas version would take six years for the average family and 1 year for a rideshare owner driving 30K+ a year. Toyota has been exposed of late because as long as they don't make major updates, their are reliable otherwise, Toyota is struggling with core reliability.

If no spare tire on Forester Hybrid, then Subaru lost 1 sale.

136 hp in Europe for 46k for the platinum trim, good luck in selling any, I wanted one had hope that they would bring the one with 184hp at least but no, I will buy a Mazda cx5 instead, shame.

Still that power starved engine. I’ll stick with Mazda and their Turbos.

Nope! I traded mine for a Kia storage plug on hybrid and I’ll take the 50 mpg that it gets

Touch screen kills it. Too large too slow. Needs some buttons for quick access to turn on tunes or ac/heat. Only die hard Subaru lovers will buy it. Mazda, Honda Toyota put out better products in this class by a mile.
