The fuel pump is original. The original starter was replaced about 2 years ago. I was still able to get a factory reman from a Toyota dealer and it took about 15 minutes to replace. While I love the simplicity of the ‘87, the safety features on the 2019 are night and day. I’ve also owned Toyota hybrids and if you’re going to get a hybrid, Toyota has the best system by far. Honda makes a great car too. At the end of the day, it boils down to personal preference when it comes down to Toyota versus Honda. For those of you who say demand wasn't high enough, Honda sold approximately 220k Accords with the 2.0T engine between '18 - '22. That may not be super high volume but it is hardly insignificant. And for those who say, "well just buy a BMW M3, Audi S4 or C43 AMG", have you checked the price tag on those cars? They're practically double the price. They are not a viable option for people wanting a practical sedan that offers a bit more power just for pure fun of driving. In Honda's case, I wish they would have dropped the 1.5T base engine, offered the Hybrid engine as their core power plant and continued to produce the 2.0T for those of us who actually enjoy a more spirited driving experience.

I love the comments. Some so beyond lame. Both vehicles are great options to get into a legitimate fuel saving vehicles that will last for years. Both are very different in design. To say Honda is subpar is to say how ignorant you are about the mechanical design of the hybrid system. Both take a different approach to the hybrid drivetrain design which shows how innovative their engineers are. You can't go wrong with either vehicle.

Bro accord Is the beat, hybrid doesn't means speed. If you choose the highest variants of both, accord is way better in factors of speed, efficiency, comfort and etc. I test drive both but accord is way better. Accord has the fun on driving while camry looks dull.

Thank you for an excellent and comprehensively detailed review. I'm leaning toward the Honda as I don't need AWD in Florida and the memory seats that are standard on the EX-L are indispensable , as I'm tall and my wife, short !

I have a 2005 honda accord v 6 3.0 engine Love my car. It's a very smooth driving car. Now let's talk about a few things. For any all wheel car. When it comes do buying tires. You have to buy all 4 tires instead of two. Remember the hybrid is a battery. In the winter you would have to replace the hybrid battery more often. Me personality I would stick with gas vehicles not electric vehicles or hybrid either.

The Interior in the Accord looks better but the exterior on the Camry looks better (but not much better)

Camry is more reliable, has a lower TCO and it lasts longer. Not that Accord is not a good choice too, especially when compared to the Koreean or German clunkers, but Camry is the segment's champion.

Topgun sedan test- 2025 vs 2025 I’d give the edge to the Camry. AWD, more horsepower, better warranty, larger and integrated infotainment (12”) and looks better. Accord looks like a grandma Buick like car. Boring, dull and old looking. Accord 9/10 Camry 9.5/10 Both far superior to “luxury” brands like BMW and Mercedes. Both are Topguns 🥇

i would naturally always go for the camry. but the accord deff would be my second pick if i couldnt get this camry.

I would have said Camry, but the CVT is a deal breaker. The previous accord looked much better than the current one. Ideally, because of the CVT transmission, I wouldn't buy the the camry or the hybrid accord, but at least the non-hybrid accord has a regular automatic transmission whereas the camry us CVT only across the range.
@carhelpcorner7 ай бұрын
But the eCVT in Toyota hybrids is a totally bulletproof reliable planetary gearset. Why would that be a deal breaker?
@myytchannel66327 ай бұрын
Honda does not have a transmission. That means one less thing to worry about.
@Jackmerius_Tacktheretrix7 ай бұрын
@carhelpcorner it is bulletproof, but I just personally hate the way they feel.
@Jackmerius_Tacktheretrix7 ай бұрын
@myytchannel6632 CVT transmissions are notoriously unreliable longevity wise, especially the ones Nissan has. But if I absolutely had to have one, I'd get the camry because of the planetary gear setup.

Camry for the WIN!!! Quick back story. My partner was driving a 2020 Accord Touring (2.5 L turbo, gas engine). His lease was up in 2023 and we naturally went to look at the 2023 Accord (already redesigned as a hybrid). He hated the interior! Couldn't fit in the driver's seat (he's 6'3" 255 lbs). You see, for the hybrid battery pack, the driver's seat track was reduced, so he didn't have enough leg room. Off to Toyota and he fell in love again with the Camry. He's driving a 2023 Camry XLE AWD but ICE version, as he waited too long to shop, and could get a factory-built ICE Camry in 2 months, while the hybrids were 8 months out. Now, he will probably lease the 2026 Camry XLE again.

This is the first time having a Honda (HRV). Toyota, you get what you pay for. My toyota pickup was very reliable. I get more car with Honda. I've had Honda motorcycles which are reliable. Toyotas are expensive. Now you bring the car to the shop and take out a loan to pay for the repairs/replacement parts. No more playing mechanic. I like choosing what I want. With Honda, I chose front wheel 2.0 aspirated motor. Wish the transmission had gears.

No one is factoring in that Toyota has the lowest days supply of any OEM. So, good luck trying to find a Camry Hybrid. And expect to pay a hefty Market Adjustment

It's funny. While Honda did a redesign, it looks like they phoned it in. Toyota didn't fix 2hat wasn't broken, and it added things it was behind on and made the better overall car. I've been a Honda guy for years, but Camry takes this round for the first time ever. I like this Camry a LOT.
@danielisrael50587 ай бұрын
I test drove both and recently bought the Honda Accord Hybrid sport. The deal breaker for me is the Accord seat design has lumbar support feature. I wanted a car that I didn't feel like I had strained my back to get out. I appreciate your fair assessment, but overall the difference to me is the question of, "what do I need"? Have a great day!
@tails3007 ай бұрын
I’m confused, because the Camry has power adjustable lumbar support.

2018 was the only exciting generation of Camry in terms of styling. Now they’ve run it through the vanilla factory. These are cars you buy if your soul has been evacuated from your body.

Title of the video should be splitting hairs. I've only owned Hondas and Toyotas. I prefer the feeling of having more space. On my just purchased CRV which came with cloth seats, I purchased aftermarket synthetic leather seat covers. Everyone thinks it's leather (because it smells like leather) and don't notice they're seat covers.

I believe Toyota Japan has discontinued the Camry for their local market... Being Australian this might lead to extremely long wait times... I have a 2022 SX Camry I might need to change to an RAV4 which has its wait times reduced to 8 - 12 months for some models... As always these reviews I take to see what each car has... We all need to test drive both for at least 24 hrs each to make a choice. In Australia Honda is on its last legs... Toyota has service centres everywhere and anywhere.
