It’s about what you’d probably expect. Way better than a Jeep Wrangler or other less insulated vehicle that’s very vertical, but not as good as a more expensive sedan or lower to the ground vehicle. The RAV4s road noise doesn’t seem much better or worse than the other compact crossovers it competes against. With the factory all seasons there’s not a ton of road noise, and the shape of this seems to catch about as much wind as everything else shaped similarly.

We have a 2005 RAV4 in the family. Other than not being AWD, no issues.

Very cool! I’m glad it’s been a good ownership experience.

I hope this isn't what you got after the Outback.

I have a gas model 2022 Rav4. It’s been great and runs like a Swiss watch. It’s so straightforward, so simple, so intuitive it is almost boring it works so well. Yes it could use more power but it’s not that kind of vehicle. I test drove a lot of competition and it is great all around choice. I chose it as I own vehicles for 8-12 years and Toyota reliability won out. Many 12-15 year old Rav4s in our area.

@@stickbrick8219yup. my 2010 RAV4 V6 runs like a top with just about 200k miles. I’d love a new car but it hasn’t given me any reason to get rid of it.

It would be a huge performance downgrade unless he got the Prime model, but then that'd be going the EV route. Check out the moose test of the RAV4.

@AutomotiveAnonymous208 Can I figure 7 seconds 0-60 @ sea level?

I would think so. The gas portion of this engine was down on power ~10%, that should equate to at least .6 of a second. These feel surprisingly zippy for “only” a 219 combined HP CUV.

@@AutomotiveAnonymous208 I think they feel quick because they're a smaller size and lighter weight vehicle. Although the model I had as a loaner a few years ago had the V6 in it, it wasn't too bad overall, and the time I had it, we got about 8 inches of snow....have to say the AWD system did pretty well considering it had the factory all season tires on it. Wish they still offered them with the V6. I haven't had a chance to drive the current model with the 4 cylinder, but at 200+ HP it shouldn't be too bad...my 2005 Ford Taurus had about 160HP so I'd think a CUV with 200+ HP in the size the RAV4 is, it should do pretty well...not race car speeds of course, but for every day use it'll be fine.

I think you’re right. My brother’s first car was an early year Taurus of the same generation as yours, but with the higher output 200hp 3.0 V6. Back then it felt like a rocket, similar to my 3.8 Impala before I supercharged it.
