***Please Note***: The vehicle I reviewed is a 2024 model. However, since the 2025 version is mostly unchanged, I labeled this video as 2025 to improve visibility, as the algorithm isn't on my side. The only updates for 2025 are the addition of front tow hooks across all trims and a boost in the auxiliary switches' capacity, now supporting up to 95 amps instead of the previous 30.

Finally someone has the balls to say it. It seems every other “journalist” were paid by Toyota to not say anything critical. Great review. I just traded my 2024 SR5 in on a 2025 Honda Pilot. You neglected to mention the transmissions that are made out of glass, mine bit the dust at 2400 miles. Between that, the rattles you mentioned, and the awful gas mileage, that truck was a piece of garbage.

It’s a 45k-50k truck.. they’re ridiculous. The Toyota Tocoma used to be affordable truck it’s sad.

The amount of leg space you get in the back seats alone would make me question why anybody would ever buy this truck.

The average Tacoma buyer is 54 and primarily female. They are more of a fashion statement and rarely used for real truck stuff anymore

People think this truck is an upgrade. But in reality it’s a product of modern emission and crash test standards. That are getting in the way of real progression. This motor isn’t an upgrade but a way to adhere to emission standards. But a giant iPad screen will distract the idiots. 😂

As a 3rd-generation Tacoma owner with a manual transmission, I recently test drove the 4th-generation TRD Pro and tried to fall in love with it. Unfortunately, it was a significant miss from Toyota. For the same price, you could purchase a full-size RHO Ram truck!

Refreshing to see an honest review 👍 Regarding the large screen, it's easier for the Tacoma's median customer (age 54 and more female than male) to see and operate while driving

My local dealer Uebelhor Toyota in Jasper, IN has a black 2024 TRD Pro that’s been on their lot for weeks. They took $1,500 off MSRP and no takers. The price is ridiculous.

These trucks should go for 45k at the top trim level not a dime more. My buddy purchased a 2024 chevy 2500 crew cab with the 6.6 gas engine with the 10 speed allison transmission for 54k. It's literally twice the size with a great engine & tranny

If they would have ditched the lame front seats and the Hybrid system to save 10-15k, this would be the best Midsize. But no front locker, 65k starting price, no rear room for people or storage, gimmick seats, etc... The competition is a way better bang for your buck. Before you start the "Toyota will last 500k miles" excuses, so will other vehicles. All have problems, and I have seen Tacomas detonate at 10k miles.

A lot of stupid people see all the tech and think they’re driving a fusion powered pickup. But in reality it’s a less reliable truck. With a COMBUSTION engine that’s less reliable, more intricate, and more stress per cylinder. All those trucks we used to call reliable over the decades never had a hybrid electric 4 cylinder. Y’all are being guinea pigs but not really. Because any real mechanic will know that a turbo 4 isn’t going to last as long as a nat aspirated v6. 😂

Actually, i am waiting for the trd Pro 4 runner. Quite disappointed after that video. Considering 66k, in words -sixtysix thousand!!! And 16mpg?! Is that a standup comedy show? I do understand that there is some wiggle room, but thats way to much off. Thanks for the video! Most definitely saved me my hard earned money

Toyota went from legendary to dud within a few short years. How? How do you go from being regarded as indestructible, reliable and in demand, to becoming an overpriced junk? It needs to be studied in university

For some reason they have a look like they've been wrecked on the sides from a side swipe or something similar, near the front fender panels. What a joke for $66k. And you lost the V6 and had dangerous Lithium batteries added under the rear bench seating. A ticking time bomb.

Truck is too much on price and too big, it is not a Tacoma I like 10 years ago. I planned to buy one but push it off. It is harder to get in/out of parking space. MPG is not good at all. I drive small truck to work daily, MPG is important to me.

You can get a Gladiator Rubicon which will massacre this off-roading, CUSTOM ORDERED for around 58k out the door fully loaded at tri city jeep. Toyota is out of their minds. And PS I trust the 3.6 pentastar over any modern Toyota turbocharged engine. From the tundra engine failures to the Corolla GR fires, and now the Tacoma transmission failures - I think Toyota forgot how to build a proper turbocharged engine. A shame because they built the 1JZ and 2JZ GTE which are widely regarded as some of the greatest turbo engines ever made

To be fair, all trucks are now overpriced. Anyone considering paying near $100,000 for a domestic full size pickup truck is insane, or simply terrible with money.

This tacoma truck's are nothing but hyped way overpriced mini trucks they cant tow pull a heavy load by any means of the imagination mpg is horrible the braking systems is weak poor feelsike an 90's tacoma and yes on bumper to bumper traffic the transmission bumping jerking will drive you mad you may want to just leave it in traffic and walk home instead the engine gets tired when loaded and pulls slower loaded same for the transmission and its a drunk at a party just horrible mpg with any load on it also the built quality is horrible the paint job is horrible specially on black theres spots not painted and they went light on the paint its to thin that it gets scratched with anything theres lots of panel gaps not to mention the tail gate also the sound system is pathetic also the fuel injection system has problems all that ticking like a diesel engine is a fuel system problem it gets worst and bad at around 20 to 30k my recommendation if you want a real mid size truck to tow light look for an old Nissan tacoma mazda Ranger chevy older trucks with a nice rebuilt engine transmission you will hae a way better truck real truck for way less than 30k
