Good trick to prevent the AC from not working is to shift the transmission into manual mode. That will defeat the auto start/stop when you are stopped or in traffic.

If you engage the auto hold, come to a stop, take your foot off the brake, the engine will start again. Problem with air conditioning not running is solved.
