I only collect the retro gijoes from the 80s, but I actually might get this storm shadow because I can’t find a original storm shadow that doesn’t have that yellowish tint on the white and if I do find a white one they are extremely expensive.

I like your cost and quality assessment. That's how I justify the cost of collectible toys now, I factor in inflation just how you did. You're right, 40 yrs later the quality should be a lot better and the price shouldn't be as high as they are. We don't need to get screwed by Hasbro.

I found myself nodding my head to everything you’re saying. Yet I can’t wait to get both of these, and the rest of them. It’s the same problem with the retro Star Wars. Except at least these don’t have a big orange red sticker on them

You can buy these figures outside of the us but they are expensive

My New Snake Eyes oring came with an elbow crack and stress mark on the other arm and its sealed.. it is JUNK NOW. I Guess they don't have a quality control department anymore..

Wow that's pretty bad. I thought they were using softer plastic on the forearms to prevent broken elbows and thumbs. 😔

Maybe they're using thinner card stock because it uses less trees and you never think about that oh forget about the trees let's make you happy

I agree, $22 per o-ring Joe is definitely too much. However, you do need to adjust the price of oil and manufacturing into your calculations. If oil is expensive, plastic is expensive. And these figures don’t pop together like modern figures, they do cost more to make. I’m not a MOC guy but put that vintage Storm Shadow in a case, you’re making me nervous.

Oil and labor is more expensive. The days of cheap figures are long gone, unless nobody wants these and they go on clearance, lol. However, the 6 inch figures use more plastic and they cost about the same as these, but maybe it doesn't take as long to manufacture since they're larger?
