Thank you Patrick for the mention, it really made our day meeting you like that, its not often you bump into someone that you've been following on you tube for sometime. Thanks again for the videos, it got us through those many days we were stuck in the house due to covid. Keep the videos coming and you take care of yourself, and for all those people who wonder what Patrick is like, he's just the same jovial smilling person you see on his videos, what you see is what you get a Gentleman . Thanks Mate, all the best.

I hiked this on Tuesday. I'm glad you said it was the Mother of all climbs Patrick because it certainly was. I came up from Ladybower and seemed to take a steep rocky path up. On the way back I went along the Briddle Path which was much easier. Thanks for sharing. All it needs is a discarded cigarette and up it goes. From Ladybower it just seemed false summit after false summit.

I think it's an even harder climb from Ladybower, although I must admit I've never walked Win Hill from there. Thanks for watching 👍

A Peak District classic there Patrick. As annoying as it must have been, losing the SD card gave you another reason to walk that great hill again. It’s one of my favourites and definitely one for the midweek that’s for sure. I completely understand your annoyance at finding that litter. It’s fantastic that the countryside is accessible for all, it’s just unfortunate that there are a few people who have no clue about the countryside code! Great to see you back out and making films again. I always look forward to seeing them pop up on my notifications

Hi Anthony, yeah a real classic one this. it was good to go back to film this again as it is a fab walk as you know, especially as it was with fewer people the second time around. I just get riled when I see so much litter, those sweet wrappers were everywhere. It was nice to be out again filming, so thanks Anthony for watching and commenting. See you out there! Have a great Sunday 👍

Evening Des, yes I love this route very much, but definitely makes you pant by the time you reach the top! So worth it though and I was buzzing to when I was up there. Another fabulous one Patrick. I'm totally with you on the 'leave no trace' rant. I am sure one day the SD card will re-emerge out of nowhere, I did a similar thing and pinged the SD card out my camera but was unlucky enough for it to bounce off my face, then off my PC screen, to then see it sinking in my pint of beer, gutted wasn't even close. lol

Thanks my friend! 😀 I needed to rant about that after seeing all those sweet wrappers. The SD card may be turn up, but it won't be me that find its now (I'll explain about that in a future video). Hi Patrick. You Looked very well since having your break. My goodness that was some rant you gave about litter dropping! Must be nice though for you to get out into the open air again with those views from top. I can understand how an SD card can fly out of a camera. I think they are on some kind of spring, but if micro well that's another story!!. I bet it's somewhere least expected. Impressive treble triple notes piano playing in music.
@solitaryrambler
@solitaryrambler Жыл бұрын
Morning Shanita, thanks for watching and for your kind words. Sorry about that rant, but I just get so upset and angry when I see such a lack of respect from people when they litter our beautiful countryside. That's exactly what happened with the micro SD card. I just pressed it in a way that caused it to spring out of the camera. I won't ever find it now, but I've always kept several micro SD cards. This is the first time I've ever lost one after filming, but at least I could do this again as I had a spare card. Thanks for your kind words on my piano music too, that took quite a bit of practise I must admit! Have a good week Shanita, all the best 👍

Hope? My grandparents lived in 'hope under dinmore' Patrick. I always love to hear that place name. And yeah I've always known it means valley. Lovely place. Ha, a mother of a climb eh? A bit of lung busting but it makes us appreciate the good old fresh air. Plenty of it up there and hey rubbish to. What a pet hate it is for many of us. Squeeze the precious oxygen out of their lungs I say until they see the value of the clean country paths and air we breath. Yeah I know a bit extreme but get it almost denies life. Well, funny story about the SD card - I was going to say better film maybe. I mean fewer people. Very entertaining this one Patrick. I look forward to seeing what's been up. All the best. Mark

Hey Mark, yes I've heard of Hope under Dinmore, probably when I've been looking at my OS maps covering Hereford. Yeah a mother of a climb haha! But yeah the lung busting felt good, would do it again at the drop of a hat. I do get annoyed with those who just leave their litter like I saw here, would name and shame them if I caught them doing it. Oh well, great bit of fresh air too anyway as you say 🙂 I can laugh at the story of my SD card now, was swearing a lot on the day it happened though! 🤣 It was nice to re-film this however, especially as there were fewer people indeed. Hope your weekend is going well for you Mark, thanks for watching and take care down there. All the best 👍

@@solitaryrambler Yeah, Hope a lovely place to grow up it was Patrick - lots of wood. Good to hear you enjoyed the lung buster - gotta be done. As for the litter people it makes our hearts sink. Ha ha, you never told us about the swearing but I can imagine. Funny! Glad it was nice a second time around. My weekend? Swimming again. Have a great week ahead Patrick. peace.

Looks like you had a lovely quiet walk to yourself Patrick. We've yet to do Win Hill, the views look incredible from that viewpoint. You've shown us several areas in and around Win Hill we had never seen before. Great stuff :) Favourite quote: "Having fillied my face, I began the long climb" XD

It was great to have the walk to myself for the most part. You should definitely get to Win Hill when you can as I know you'd make a fab video of it 😀 Haha I did indeed fill my face, I just say it as it is! 😂 Thanks for watching guys, much appreciated 👍

Many thanks Jean, pleased you liked it. Yes it really gets me when I see litter in these beautiful places, but there you go. I will explain my news in a near future video. It's nothing particularly exciting to be honest, but it is positive news from my point of view anyway 👍

i agree with you about the litter, I always take a bag with me on my walks, and I can't remember not picking up litter. Plastic will remain for ever, it breaks down into smaller and smaller pieces, poisoning the ecosystem. Drinks cans are also a common item for people to throw on the ground once consumed.

It's such a shame that people are unable to take their litter with them and just leave it scattered across our beautiful countryside. I will never understand it I'm afraid 👍

@Solitary Rambler Good afternoon Patrick, and thank you so much for the shout out 😀, I will never forget that style because there was a class of college students watching as I struggled to get over it with my short legs 🤣 We're not long back from our first climb since getting a covid positive just over 4 weeks ago. We were pleasantly surprised at how great I've climbed. It was like I'd never had a break 😁. We have camped in Hope three times since that day that we met you! It was an honour to meet you, it really was. You are exactly like you are on your videos. Thanks again. 🥰

Pleasure to give you and Terry a shout out Maggi, I thought of you straight away when I was filming this 😀 It was an honour to meet you both too. I do like just "be me" in my films as much as possible, so the man you see in this is exactly who people will see if they see me in the flesh 😂 Glad you're over the Covid now, I think we've all had it now at some point. Have a great weekend 👍

Nice to have you back! For years already I just can't make up my mind, whether to like all those huge bare hillsides and moors or not... For one, they make for some really spectacular and scenic views, but, the again, what they essentially are is man made ecological catastrophe.

Can’t stand people that leave litter, worst still is when they go to the trouble of picking up their dogs mess then proceed to throw the bag in the bushes, trees, where doesn’t really matter. Anyway, great video, pity I won’t be going up there, I have in the past, many years ago but my legs won’t make it these days unfortunately

We saw a doggy bag on the Roaches today. It wasn't the kind of squashed bag of ****** that could be picked up by anyone other than the dirty so and so who dropped it there. Some wild campers change beauty spots around to suit them, then leave it like that and even leave there doings and toilet paper behind them, plus orange peel and wrappers. Totally disgusting!
