@TheQuackAddicts5 жыл бұрын
I shoot a Benelli M2, Jess uses a Browning A-5 Wicked Wing, Aaron was shooting a Remington 1187, an James was shooting an old 1100 if I'm thinking right. I've never owned a Maverick or Mossberg, they throw a good pattern though I know that, not bad as long as you don't mind the kick. Sorry for the late reply bub, somehow just saw your comment.

can I go duck hunting with a 26" barrel ?
@trentmckenzie3434 жыл бұрын
You can duck hunt with anything you want, there’s nothing saying you can’t. (Talking about barrel length) Length of barrel has almost nothing to do with pattern spread, it’s way more about the constriction of the choke and how it reacts with the wad and the shot size. So unless it’s a fixed choke 26” improved cylinder I’d shoot the damn thing. Hell my dad has been deer hunting with a shotgun that wouldn’t throw buckshot for shit.

Nice shooting boys. Question for the guy with the wicked wing A5. What shells are you shooting? I’ve got one and can’t get it to cycle low brass. Also did he do anything to his to break it in? I’m trying to determine if mine is a lemon or if I need to do something to break it in or even try a different kind of dove load. Thanks!
@TheQuackAddicts6 жыл бұрын
It’s not a break in period because that’s the first time he took it hunting. He was shooting 1 1/8 ounce 7.5 shot Winchester AA super handicaps and heavy target loads. Both of his A5s will cycle them every single time.

How much do you lead the doves
@TheQuackAddicts6 жыл бұрын
It’s hard to put an exact number on it because it depends on angles and how far away the bird is. You should be able to get a good idea from the ShotKam videos though.

Thanks I did get a good idea from the shot cam but I was wondering if their is a certain length to lead them. Thank you, love the channel

That’s a good way to get your ass put in jail, and I’m not gonna lie you kinda deserve it
@johnnyriley4554 жыл бұрын
@@trentmckenzie343 wrong. If the field is disked and they don't put out more than the ag recommended rate, then its perfectly legal. He never said they did all that but it would be legal if he did.
@trentmckenzie3434 жыл бұрын
johnny riley In SC, you don’t have to disc the field, but planted fields are considered baited when done outside of season. There’s specific times to plant each grain crop, and anything outside of those times is bait. So, for instance, you couldn’t have a sunflower field then plant it in wheat just before season opened.
@trentmckenzie3434 жыл бұрын
johnny riley I guess it just depends on the state, and what type of field they are hunting. Because if you were to sow wheat in a sunflower field here in SC you’d be walking away in handcuffs, assuming the game warden caught you.
@johnnyriley4554 жыл бұрын
@@trentmckenzie343 the scenario you laid out would be illegal in any state no doubt, but if you disk a field and top dress with wheat, it is not illegal.
@adamlewis75226 жыл бұрын
What choke should I used for duck hunting text me back
@TheQuackAddicts6 жыл бұрын
I’d start with the modified choke that comes with your gun, but if you’re not satisfied with the pattern it throws you could pick up an aftermarket mid range choke and go from there. I like Rob Roberts, and Patternmaster chokes a lot.
@adamlewis75226 жыл бұрын
Would u not use a full choke
@TheQuackAddicts6 жыл бұрын
Well let me put it this way, I shoot a long range choke (Rob Roberts T3) which from what I understand is an improved modified because I prefer a little tighter pattern. I love the pattern it throws but I wouldn’t want to go any tighter. When ducks get real close sometimes I have a harder time hitting them than jess does with his T2 but on a positive note I get more consistent kill shots at longer ranges.
@TheQuackAddicts6 жыл бұрын
By the way Tony Vandermore shoots RR T3 too.

@jamessettles4516 жыл бұрын
I bet he could close both eyes and shoot better than you!
@trentmckenzie3434 жыл бұрын
The Quack Addicts eye dominance has nothing to do with shooting. As much as I’m sure you’ve been told in the past, it’s nothing more than a wives tale. I am right handed with a dominant left eye and I shoot right handed just fine. I actually see better shooting right handed, I start seeing double when I mount left handed. Most important is learning to use both eyes to gain depth perception.

Appreciate the video but I worry about you guys shooting at those low birds. Here in the bluegrass you need to see sky above the bird or you don't shoot. If you are lucky, you will be asked to leave. Sometimes it's not so polite.
@TheQuackAddicts6 жыл бұрын
We appreciate the concern. We're not big on shooting low birds either, but we were well aware of everything that was behind the doves that we shot at. On all the low ones out toward the Mojo there was actually no hunters and no trucks in that direction at all or we wouldn't have shot.
