@Patrick Hunter I probably should say my "cremated bass" is really my attempt at being tongue-in-cheek. It'll go to a good home after I'm gone, I promise!

Thanks so much for featuring my basses. To answer you questions: Yes it used to be a guitar, 1964 Fugijen VN-4 baritone guitar. And the 4 knobs on the dobro are for the single coil and the piezo Bridge pickup. You rock dude :)

4:30 - That was one of the most intelligent lines I've heard - I've played guitar for 3 and a 1/2 decades and I started playing bass seriously about a year ago. Yeah I know the scales, yeah I know the arpeggios, yeah I know the modes but I don't have that Marcus Miller, that Nathan East groove thing. Also I still play the bass like I'm playing a guitar. To all you musicians out there if you think the bass is an inferior instrument think again. It's just as difficult to be a good bassist as it is to be a good guitarist or good drummer or whichever instrument. Mike.

That Antigua is not one of the prettier ones I've seen. However, it's my dream to own a '70s Fender Precision in antigua. Possibly my favorite finish ever.

Ya know, there's a lot of other good things Patrick could be doing with his vid editing time than doing 400 different customized basses. Like I love hearing the man actually PLAY. But yes, this pawnshop who're absolutely loves seeing all the customization and love people put into their basses. I'm usually on my seat for each one.

One of my basses (not my ride or die) is a Yamaha 5 string. Those double-humbuckers are incredible and on a pure non-sound related item, the insets for your thumb on the top of them make them uber comfortable to play.

Funny thing is I had the exact same opinion of Spector basses and only saw the 3k and up versions at sweetwater so after I looked into them I found out the Spector NS and related basses were the originals designed by Ned Steinberger who used to work for Spector Warwick actually copied the Spector NS design and then gave it their own flare

Cool video, patrick. first off, happy new years. My personal favorites on this video are the Ibanez bass, the musicman stingrays, the jazz bass, and the yamaha bass(I'm a huge yamaha fan by the way). the jackson bass doesn't look too bad. I know you don't like them, but I think their pretty cool. personally I'm not the biggest thunderbird fan, but I do like that jackson kelly bass. mainly because it looks like across between a thunderbird and an explorer(and I do like explorer styled basses). other than that, the only jackson bass I've tried out is the spectra. it's basically jackson's take on of the ibanez soundgear bass and it actually sounded pretty cool. speaking of Ibanez, I own a modified ibanez soundgear bass. I've had it modded with a bartolini preamp. and I plan to put a set of bartolini pickups on it real soon. as for yamaha, I personally would recommend checking out the bb basses and the trbx basses. I own both of them and they sound phenomenal.

Did I mention it's metallic burgundy mist sparkle? CLF Research for the win. *checks Patrick's back catalog to see if there was a G&L Fallout review*
@russellzauner3 жыл бұрын
You've got a T-40, you don't need a Rick. Honestly. They're fun to play because super thin necks but... Also Sadowsky - Brian Marshall from Alter Bridge went back to Ernie Ball some years back...I was wondering about that too, and there's also Sandberg (NOT Strandberg) that are a lot like the classic Sadowskys, so you're not out of options.
