Some things that I do to save money 1. Check out books from the library. 2. Get my paycheck to be sent automatically to my saving account instead of checking account. 3. Make a list of exactly where I want my money to go. 4. Thrifting shopping. 5. Weekly- daily bank account check ins.

While watching this, I have done some re-evaluating on what I can do to save more money. 1. Taking snacks with me from home instead buying food while out running errands. 2. Checking my bank weekly or daily 3. Automatic savings 4. Going thrifting or to low bargain/ discount stores. 5. Being mindful where I drive (Since gas prices are so high, I will try to get everything that I need for the week and when Im driving to an area, I will make sure to get everything that I need from that area as oppose to driving in that area multiple times a week. Thank you! This video was really helpful and right on time♡

I get my nails and eyebrows waxed/tinted once a month. In-between I make it work on my own. I’m looking for ways to do something cheaper with my hair. Wigs are cool, but it’s too hot here in FL. And I workout a lot. I just wanna cut it all off, but I will try to find some cheap braid styles that will last me. And for these things, I am saving a percentage each paycheck in a separate account, that way I have it when I am ready to get my hair/nails done. I am cooking more at home. Got the cheapest phone plan. Definitely want to declutter and sell some stuff.

Getting you hair done at a school (Paul Mitchell, Toni & Guy) are ways to save money. The services (they also do colors, perms, hair straightening, etc.) are supervised by a licensed, experienced instructor. Libraries have DVDS, blu-rays, activities (pj story time, chess matches, author readings, movies, lectures, etc.).

My mom showed me one stitch when I was about 6 to don my thick tights for those NY winters. Over the years, I've found dresses at thrift, consignment shops & retail stores that may be one size too big and I just take in the sides or move the buttons. I don't buy fadish clothes/all my styles are timeless (tank dresses I can layer or skirts that flatter me but don't cling, etc,). When it comes to summer dresses, I don't even have to think when I find a sundress that may be too big. I can take in the straps or ruch up the sleeves with the same simple stitch. I was also hired to hem up the waiters for my kids 240+ kid hs marching band. I made almost $300 a season😊 I remember taking my kids to the free Wednesday movies during the summers (I work for the school system so I had the whole summer off w my kids. No daycare to pay😊) and they would take their snacks in their backpacks so each had their own). Then throughout the summers, in addition to events like VBS, I'd call ahead to the utility companies for a tour of how things work. I figure, if I'm paying for it, I might as well find out how it works right?😂 We've had a "Mommy a daycamp" field trip to the electric company, the water reclamation center (not at all gross, VERY interesting!), the gas company, the sausage factory, behind the scenes at the recycling center where they make paper from recycled stuff, and one of the BEST ones was to the Mayfield dairy where when you're done, ALL double scoops were $1! We've been to nature preserves where we get to see wildlife behind glass like a zoo but it's free because it's through the school systems so it's just a donation & open to the public, and afterward we would go out to the picnic area and eat our packed lunch. I also signed them up for community center and the YMCA activities like swimming, karate & ballet which usually came to less than $20 per kid for a month but you have to start looking around spring break to get your name on lists early. I kept a blowup pool on our deck so I didn't have to schlep all the pool paraphernalia to the public pool which had NO SHADE and life guards were only on certain days so it was always overcrowded on those days. I just covered our pool with a tarp if it rained. We also did reading challenges at the library and they earned prizes throughout the summer. I'm also a life long brown bagger and have incorporated bringing my breakfast AND snack within the last 15 yrs. I had a weakness for the banana bread and the fancy overpriced teas, so I started making my own banana bread, and then I could crush up trail mix and add what I wanted to it. And for the tea I could go to the farmers market and get a whole box of the so-called exotic blends and steep them at home. Now my banana apple/ apple pumpkin, yamapple breads always available whenever I want and I love that I know what goes into them😊 I bought small containers from $$ store and have everything from fresh fruit & veggy slices, my full meal of rice & peas & chicken or fish, my salad with all my fixings, even smaller ones for my yogurt and my trail mix & a breakfast bar, little fruit cups of applesauce & jello & maybe a little sweet treat of a piece of cake in the smaller one. I keep bottles of water in my, and I make a fresh fruit pressed smoothie most evenings to take with me the next day. A bag of frozen fruit, no sugar added, from the grocery store for $7 gets me about six smoothies a week. That's a dollar per smoothie compared to the $8.00 that is from a mix from some store that I had to wait on line to get and the cup is way too small for my wallet 🤣 This way everything is portion controlled and it keeps me from stopping my fast food if I'm stuck in traffic home because I always have something extra to snack on. I still have enough room to put an icepack on top & it's not at all heavy. My co-workers call me the little grocery woman 🤣

All solid advise! I’ve been doing most of these already though impulse buying, while greatly reduced, is my Achilles heel ☹️. For me, in terms of saving, reducing on groceries and alcohol saved me at min $300/mo. Saving money is still difficult for me but not trying would be devastating.

You are amazing! Something that helped me on my journey was to turn saving money into a game in my mind. Like a board game or video game. Keep it fun but serious. Assuming you are in America here are some things I do. Menu plan: list meals you (family) will eat, try for 14-28 (but don’t stress to get to 28). I started with favorites and then did it by country (Mexican, Italian, Chinese). Try for inexpensive easy meals. For me I chose: meatloaf, chili, tacos, fried rice, oven potatoes-onions-green peppers-sausage, spaghetti & meat sauce, mac&cheese, pizza. Easy 7, lol. You can get away with 12/24 by having a leftover night. Some make it simple with Meatless Monday, Taco Tuesday, leftover Wednesday, Pizza Friday; 4 days done. Next, work towards getting ingredients at your cheapest price. My goal is to feed a family of 4-6 for less than $5 total for dinner. I prefer $3. Example: pizza was make it yourself, store brand biscuits - roll with a straight edge water cup/glass, spaghetti sauce, shredded cheese, leftover scraps for toppings. Some many benefits to family having fun making/assembling their own. Sale biscuits, sale spaghetti sauce, sale shredded cheese, toppings from veggies throughout your cooking week, same with bits of meat meals; remember pizza requires very little to sprinkle across a pizza. Have fun! 1. Use phone app FLIPP to view all grocery ads in the area. Use the search function to compare sale prices for you, saves time & effort. Make your store list. 2. Shop multiple stores for loss leaders. Go only to aisles with what’s on sale on your list. Do NOT shop the whole store. Put on your blinders, imagine everything else is a vipers pit in you game. Lose points ouch. 3. For 1/2 price or BOGO sales buy 2 to build a pantry of 2 weeks or 1 month or 2 months. You will be less stressed with extras if an emergency happens and you can use that pantry/freezer to feed your family. Best wishes as you take this journey!

This is my first time listening to you, great video! I am so glad I found you. In 2012 I went on Disability, which meant making one third or less than what I made working. I learned real quick how to set priorities. Fast forward, my partner is 66, he will retire some day in the next 5 years. We are currently buying a home that we plan on paying off in 10 years or less. We are on the same page when it comes to frugality and managing our money. Rarely do we make a purchase unless it is on sale or we have a coupon. It is all about being smart with what you have.

Cost per wear or use is excellent and can help you decide to spend more money on a higher quality item if you're going to wear or use it often rather than a poor quality item which may not stand up to the stress of use. For example, a winter coat you wear to/from work five days a week or more, all winter, for several years is worth spending for quality to last vs a winter coat you only wear to special occasions/a couple times a month during winter so a less costly coat could work .

#12. Most movie theaters do not allow you to bring in your own food and drinks; this is because they generally don't make much of the showing (the cost is outrageous). Their profit is from the concessions. Don't bring it in if it's not allowed.

These are very nice tips. Some of the things that help me save money are; *Doing my own hair * Don't own a tv hence no TV subscription. Wifi allows us to watch literally anything we want online *Grow our own herbs and veggies and get a free full bag of spinach from mum weekly 🙏 * Rarely eating out . * Buying clothes and shoes when needed I would also add the grace of God is my number one money saving driver. You can see the lord's grace in the following and more 1. Emergencies happening when you are not broke 2. Good health for many years which means minimal amounts spent on health care 3. Educational scholarship 4. Paid study leave 5. Local and foreign paid work trips 6. KZbin popups of clever girl finance and other personal finance channels to help you with making, saving and investing money. 7. Opportunity of living rent free for some months or years 8. Good money generating investment deals popping up unexpected. 9. Being saved from a swindler. The list goes on..

I 'round up' my mortgage payment to the nearest hundred. I let this go on 'automatic' this knocks down my mortgage balance. Pay yourself first every month. Again let this go on Automatic. The money builds up. Take a packed lunch to work to save money. Use bath water to water the garden and clean the car, I saved a lot of money doing this. Overpay credit cards and bank loans to save money. 'Round Down' your Bank Account, that is take the last figure of your balance ( e.g. £5 ) and move this ( via Banking App ) to a 'dead account' I.e. account not in use. The money builds up over time. After making the big payments at start of the month divide your remaining Money into the days left giving you a 'daily allowance' I.e. Budget. These are just some of the things that I do. It all adds up. G ( UK ).
