One that wasn't mentioned-- jetpack fuel types affect not only climb speed / distance, but also duration. So if you use a Hypertube launcher and want fuel to navigate around the map long as possible, you definitely want biofuel (or even normal fuel) over Turbofuel, which burns much faster.
@The_Warbreaker4 ай бұрын
This is indeed correct, I do prefer biofuel over turbofuel
@Ainglish-qj5bb4 ай бұрын
@@The_Warbreaker Yeah, I keep turbo fuel for when I need to fly up a big cliff or something. But for navigation, bio is about 10x longer-lasting. :)

Tip: have not just containers for *incoming* products at your mall, but also for outgoing stuff. It's quick and easy to just grab stuff from other containers and throw it in there then. I like to hook that up to a special train that then will deliver it to my intended destination. All I need to do is set up the train station for it to get the building materials for my new factory there then. Another such container can be used to dump biomass, slugs etc into to send them to automatic sorting and processing.
@M4nichean4 ай бұрын
Sounds cool, I just like being assured that the mats I take from the storage were "set aside" and won't impact any chains they used in
@jenswurm4 ай бұрын
@@M4nichean Sure! I assume that's the case for everything that ends up in a storage container of a mall. It's taken out of the production lines already anyway and meant to be picked up by the player.

for me in 1.0, the multitude of higher level beasts are the problem. where i used to encounter (in update 8) only normal hogs and maybe one single strong hog, i found that half the hogs were strong now and one was even a "stone thrower". quite difficult to handle in the beginning with only a zapper or at most a basher. but it helps when you don't only hit them a few times with single strokes. use double strokes (doubleclick or two quick clicks) to do more damage, like swinging back and forth instead of only once. afaik, you did normal damage for the first hit and double damage for the second, thus triple damage for both together, and in a shorter time too than two single strokes. but you shouldn't turn them to "completely peaceful", so that you still can kill them if you want or need, for their remains which can be turned into biofuel or into DNA for the sink (a second separate counter), or for research in the MAM.

Honestly, it feels like half of these are just using game mechanics and items as intended....like signs and ladders... I'd add a few that were way more impactful to my experience in the early/mid game. 1 leave a few portable miners on new MAM resource nodes as you find them, occasionally empty them out and complete a few techs as you wait for other production. (especially SAM) 2 rush the alien biomass recipe for pre coal power expansion 3 slide jumping is a great combat tool, not just for getting from A->B 4 stun rebar is OP for fighting Alpha and higher enemies, it's also very easy to automate. 5 only take an alternate recipe selection if you are about use it, this way you see the most new ones with each hard drive. 6 liquid biofuel is much better than regular or turbo fuel for how long it lasts in a jetpack, it will tend to get you further and higher even though its slower than turbo fuel. 7 build more than one dimensional depot for high use items like concrete and iron plates, and pair them with regular storage on lower throughput lines. 8 Once you have a few somersloops and some surplus power, building a machine that only inputs/outputs to containers is great for limited production of items you're not yet ready to automate, but still need for milestone and research. no need to spend coupons. 9. sloop your power slugs and alien DNA, never craft them by hand. 10. the first production in a slooped machine won't have the boost, but it does carry over when switching recipes, so make something basic first. 12. don't worry about sinking early production chains, let them stockpile in containers as they will be prevalent building materials (except screws, you won't need those much), Alien DNA is much better for early game Awesome points. 13. don't wait to go exploring for new hard drives, there are easy to use "upgrade" recipes for every phase, and lots of them in the starting areas are actually easy to open by the time you've hit phase 2. 14. keep a few chests next to a permanent MAM to keep track of things you have and what you still need to collect for research. some midgame items are a pain to make, but not worth automating until late-game, so using them up because you forgot why you were saving them can be a real bummer. (looking at you, fluctuators, heavy frames and high speed connectors) wow...I had more to say than I thought... hope these help.
