Given his feelings about the show it was more than a surprise that Johnny Depp agreed to do a cameo for the film as he's distanced himself from the series and doesn't speak too fondly of it in interviews. But then when he stipulated that he would only come back if Peter Deluise would appear with him (YAY) but also asked that his character be killed (BOO!), it began to make sense why he chose to involved himself in the project. Both actors became good friends and their chemistry is still there

There was an alternate ending on the DVD where the two of them are still lying on the floor after everyone leaves and Penhall says to Hanson, “I think we’re going to be all right.” Then the two of them get up and leave. It would’ve been better if they ended the film with that clip.
