Hey HJE. Been following your build because I think I'm on a similar path. I previously went sub-3 for the first time in Harrisburg in 2022... and now am hoping to go sub 250 in the Spring. I've been building up with Pfitz to near 80 mpw in the past few weeks. I just ran a 1:23 half last weekend which made feel like I still have a ways to go. I was previously running with a team but had to stop because I moved. I was thinking about getting a coach to fill the team void. You ever considered getting a coach?

@@ksolan13 congrats on the sub 3 in Harrisburg! I ran the full that year and remember struggling in the wind the whole time, so kudos to you. And a 1:23 half now projects well for a spring marathon with continued training, so I wouldn’t feel too discouraged! I’ve always enjoyed training solo, and since early 2023, have seen a lot of progress with developing plans on my own. I’ve toyed around with the idea of finding a coach. But sometimes the financial commitment can be a bit daunting. Maybe if I hit a point where I feel like I’m unsure of how I can progress, I’d look into it more seriously. Best of luck if you choose to do so!

@@HobbyJoggerElite @HobbyJoggerElite Kudos to you for progressing solo. I don't think I could've gotten to sub 3 without the team behind me. Anyway, good luck and hope you PR Chicago.

Whats your goal time for chicago? :)

More than a time goal, I’d just like to run a consistent pace through the whole race like I did last year. Ideally, it’s at any PB pace (faster than a 2:53 finish time). Recent training in not-so-ideal conditions indicates that I can run in the sub-2:50 range, so that’s probably my A-goal. B-goal is to PB, C-goal is to finish knowing I gave it my best!

@@HobbyJoggerElite We are in the same boat actually haha. I'm trying to go for the A - 2:45, B - Sub 2:53 (PB), C - Sub 3
