it annoys me because the featured inventions/dorm skin tabs DID rotate every week with submissions (I got two inventions featured) then they were "temporarily" suspended after invention tower was discontinued and then featured custom shirts stopped after the Megan (the person reviewing the submissions) went on maternity leave and despite her returning, the shirts are yet to be rotated again

I’m glad more people are finally starting to wake up to issues this game has. Me personally, I fear that it’s too late. Problems like the ones mentioned in the video didn’t just pop up out of nowhere. For as long as I’ve been apart of the community, those disgruntled with the state of rec room have been written off, by the majority of the community as haters, or entitled, or just bored with the game without realizing it; Now, years later, we’re here. It took years to dig this hole, and if there’s any hope that Against Gravity changes their ways, it’ll take years to get back to a quality product again.

I used to play rec room in 2021 and I miss the weekly’s, they where the only reason that me and my online friends hung out most of the time since we all wanted to get those (at times) really nice skins. And I remember seeing a gucci trashcan that we all were grinding to get. And I’ll never forget all of the memories that I made and I hope that things will get turned around. But it’s probably very very slim for that to happen.

Great video as always! I remember being in 3d Charades with you, Jeb, Alex, and Lion. I forgot to mention, that the Living Pet Seal has been there since I started a year ago in February 2023. Another thing is how I’m realizing another issue; Rooms 2.0. I’ve been working on a Rooms 2.0 room, and it is literally unplayable. When players join, the game breaks and goes 1FPS until I leave, and the animation controller doesn’t work. You have very great points, and I’ve heard a lot of these points echo in the community. If anything, Rec Room should start taking tips from all video partners.

I sent an email to rec room a YEAR ago, and it was about the new contributor permissions. It took them a YEAR to realize a GIANT ISSUE FOR CREATORS. (Like myself) The only reason we needed this, is because Co-Owners, could clone rooms, letting them have owner of an exact copy of a room. This is how the copyable rooms got out, and trust me, as someone who has gotten their room copied, many, MANY times. This was a big issue. The fact it took them a year to actually realize that this was a big issues, kind of just proves they try to neglect us.

Yikes! And I thought the worst problem with contributor role was that I got added to like 50 rooms against my will. "My Rooms" is still incredibly cluttered because of this. Classic, not asking the community first - we could have potentially pointed out why that was not a good idea!

Also the new permissions UI is annoying too, you can't remove yourself from a certain permission level, *unless you're given permission to remove yourself?* Also the fact that contributor perms people show up in the creators tab on a room but you don't need to accept contributor perms and they can just be forced upon you??? Me and a group have had a room effected by rec room bugs at bad times, room constants broke for a full week, which was also the week the room was featured, which was very unhelpful for our small genre of difficult but quality parkour

Once i had a hacker in the rec center, there was 2 massive black boards that both said about websites to BUY makerpen in any room, one floating above the "shack" the other covering the mirror, this was a good few years ago now, but i still remember it to this day. I’m not trying to self promote but I felt for a while that everyone had 3 choices 1. Join the hord of cash grabs 2. Children playing the cash grabs/RecCenter kids 3. People that just leave RecRoom. But I decided to try to help fix what the community is doing to itself. I made a RR team where our only goal is to make fun unique games so people have something actually fun to do or play with there friends. But even after so long our rooms just won’t blow up because the cash grabs are to strong. So we decided we would make one final game, one game that’s so big and easy to understand it has to blow up . So we decided on making lethal company but in RR. Now don’t get all mad because this would actually be lethal company. First it’s all in one subroom no loading 2. The facility randomly generates for replay ability and 3 so many well coded monsters and features. So yea I hope it goes well and people will actually have something fun to play again.

This issues are actually terrifying to me because some of these problems are parallel to Roblox. The biggest connection being the low effort games getting the most views. I came to Rec Room because it was like a new Roblox with more fun games like paintball and quest, so seeing it slowly change in ways that disregard the community worries me... hoping for the best!

Been playing since 2017. My friends list is 99% players who don't play anymore. Seeing the over priced shop is depressing, used to spend tokens every week. RRO quests were a staple. I remember watching the crescendo trailer multiple times hyped with my buds. Haven't had that feeling in recroom in a long time.

RIP weekly's 2017 2024 I mean, I still love Rec Room, but I get overwhelmed at public lobbies sometimes. Here are more annoying things I like to point out in Rec Room. When I go the invention store, the featured inventions are nothing but so and so pets, I feel like they're doing featured rooms, and not featured inventions, I feel like they abandoned it. Toxic players think they know the code of conduct, or they just pretend it doesn't exist, they just think they rule the Rec Center, speaking of rec centers, sometimes I get approached by squeakers that set their voices to high.

The worst games have to be Ignited rooms. Filled to the brim with keys/consumables that are 1k+ tokens, just the same game concept (going around a copy&pasted map looking for 5 sheets of paper), and how ungodly promoted these rooms are. I have a friend that works for a game called Ignited-Frebear and through out the last 3 weeks, the only game he was in was that SAME EXACT room spam inviting his 1k+ friends. I mean, I get it. You need to earn tokens from your game somehow, but do you serious believe a un-original game bassed off a copyrighted character should be making all these tokens? This is the exact reason why a bunch of my friends who were creators quitted. Games that they actually worked hard on do not even get on the new tab because its burried under all of these cash grabbing ignited rooms that were only made to squeeze as much money out of you as possible.

One thing rec room ruined for quest speedrunners was getting rid of doubleshooting. I dont know if its back, im guessing its not, i havent checked, but i dunno. I used to speedrun back when rec room wasnt a "corporate company" i mean it kind of was, but not like dull colors that everyone in the office gets used to. I was playing back when the invention tower was still a thing, and when community events were also happening. Sad to see how rec room has changed, when rooms like "HuggyWuggyNightmareIgnited" or something like that werent being made. Games are unoriginal, everything is copied, and items are waaay overpriced. One more thing, I dont know why rec room got rid of the feature where you could add pictures to your outfits, that was a good feature.

I made a cohesive comment on Ruth latest video, but TLDR the MP creator community is a shell of what it once was. I have 4,000+ hours on Rec Room, most of it spent on maker pen creation, bugs no longer get fixed, creator programs removed, and creators (due to the maker pen's abysmal state) are almost forced to solely use RRS if they wish any of their creations if they wish to get any amount of views.

Even with RRS people aren't getting views on their creations unless it's a certain type of map. And if they do, it seems to flop after 3-4 weeks (at least, that's how it was a year ago during Room Rewards) I'm sorry you're feeling frustrated. One of the reasons the weekly was killed is because 0.2% of active players played it (ESPECIALLY NEW PLAYERS) So maybe we can just give them a notification? This would help people know that weeklies even exist. And if people are annoyed getting a notification every week then maybe also add a notification symbol next to the challenged tab. This would help too (Probably less but still) And add the weekly stand back to the dorm room. Also the "0.2% of active players played the weekly" is so dumb to me lol like 0.4% of active players play paintball so why not remove paintball?? Lol

there are a lot of games that do this actually! it helps the game preform smoother because being further away from a prop/object makes it more difficult to see, so game devs make lower poly versions on purpose to help keep the game run smoothly while only making small changes :D

I swear bro i get accused of aimbot all of the time in screenmode paintball ppl usually says i play on mobile or i use aimbot is bc i can hit a target from a far distance

@@Light-7hz I know. It doesn’t make any logical sense. The paint bullets move so slow that (if aimbot was possible), by the time they would reach the player they locked on to, that person would’ve already moved.

Promoters in rec room is annoying bc all they do is sit in a game for 2+ hours and they're always spamming your notifications with ignited rooms and its really annoying i had to block a promoter because of this last summer bc they were literally on rec room 24/7 spamming my notifications. and yes i think military events are really annoying cause anytime i make an event trying to play quests with other players military events bombardes it and takes it off the happening now tab for events and whenever join my event theres always one player in there waiting because of those damned military events i swear in 2022 it was easy to have a full lobby in my events and now 0 people or one person attends it because of military events. And i also create in rec room too but i don't use tubes as my terrain i use cube sphere etc etc. And it takes months for me to create these maps the building may look simple but it does take alot of time for me to make these rooms for expample i made my own version of paintball called ^LightinRRsPaintball (which you should totally play) and when i first published it was quickly kicked off the new tab because of games with roblox thumbnails and recently the games first birthday passed and i didn't bother to make an event because i know military events is just gonna punch it in its face and kick out the happening now tab for events i bet if i was to put military in the title for the event lots of people would attend. i even had a map planned for LightinRRsPaintball's first birthday. But sorry for this extremely long rant i just had to put how i felt.

My favorite game in rec room is marvel pvp when I was active on rec room it was great and I made lots of friends in there, then I quit cause I got bored I recently came back and now half the people in that game are invincible, rec room ik you wont see this but if something aint broke dont fix it the hit boxes were fine and like tera said you always just end up breaking something else anyway start fixing things that need to be fixed.
