My name is Craig Reed & I was one of the Three original Roadies with Lynyrd Skynyrd in 1973 who wore many Hats with the Band . Working as the Guitar Roadie at the time of the Most Famous Airplane Crash in History October 20 , 1977 & nominated as The World's Most Famous Roadie by Fans & Peers in 2022 - Sharing never before details of Lynyrd Skynyrd that have been overlooked in all of the Movies - Books & Documentaries that have been released up until now .
MY CO - HOST
Griff Martin AKA The Rocket Scientist is the Co Host Of the Craig Read Stoned Roadie Podcast. Griff known as the man that can get anything like Radar O'Reilly on mash has even lavished Craig his podcast partner with hard to find items. You may see Craig appear on the show with some of these items like Craig"s Rocket Scientist lab coat and even an airline pilot captains hat and shirt. Craig will tell you he likes gifts but if their gifts anyone can get he doesn't want them. Griff spent 35 years at NASA's Kennedy Space Center in Cocoa Beach Florida processing and transporting human space flight hardware. He has supported over 100 space shuttle flights and just before he retired helped to assemble the shuttle replacement rocket ARTIMUS set to launch this year. During Griff's career he has worked as a technical director in many major motion pictures at Kennedy like Armageddon, Apollo Thirteen, Space Cowboys and First Man. Griff is a long time fan of Lynyrd Skynyrd and met Craig on FB where they both share the same wit and humor. Craig invited Griff to go on a VIP tour to the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and they have been friends ever since.

Hey Craig and Griff! Thanks for another great show! I think I found the answer about the fiddle player on, All I can do is write about it… Posted by Jimmy Slicker on the Lynyrd Skynyrd in the 70’s/ Classic Rock page: how can you not here Kenny Watson's fiddle on this song?? (All I can do is write about it) Next they'll be saying there is no Dobro that Barry Harwood is playing. or no Mandolin Al McDonald is playing. the fiddle player is Kenny Watson. it was recorded on Nov. 28-30, 1975 at Capricorn Studios, Macon, Georgia. 3 songs were recorded at the record plant in L.A. the mystery with this album, Gimme Back My Bullets is The Honnicuts, back up singers on 2 songs.

Can / Will "talk Skynyrd" all day every day, so these YTs like gravy & biscuits. Hehe ... Signed, A yankee who's dug this band since first hearing Pronounced one summertime evening 1975 - it WAS love @ first listening. Row of cars parked the hangout spot - a building's side adjacent a railroad track - some van whose owner I didn't know a few vehicles away, I heard some cool music wafting from his stereo system over to us. Caught my ear ... I waited a couple more songs - also very good - and then moseyed over to the van, him sitting in its open sliding door. "Who are these guys?" I asked. "Lynyrd Skynyrd." "That Freebird band?" "Yeah, the album it's on." I stood there and listened to the entire thing - a cassette tape. HA, my ride still had 8tracks. I've been in love w/ this band for almost 50 years now ... Keep 'em coming Griff & Craig (& btw dude, you ain't the only one w/ brain damage. ;-) I just qualified for Medicare today, 07-01-2022.

If it was 1977 at the Hilton, They played JFK Stadium with 105.,000 tickets sold out gig. I remember that concert. Folk had come all the way from Jax to see them. When Skynyrd finished, a lot of the crowd on the field left( I had met a bunch from Jacksonville there).... and Frampton had to follow them.

Trying to find out about a video i came across on toutube the other day. This video was taped in 1999 i do believe. The video showed some skynyrd fans breaking into a place in Jacksonville FL. That was supposed to be a rehearsal studio for skinyrd and the 38 special band. In the video it shows then coming across a bunch of passes to different tours. The torture tour and there was others. And on one wall there was a drawing similar to the drawing in the i think was a 1979 gold platinum album. And also a drawing of a baseball with a gun in the middle and the words American Lynyrd skynyrd circling it.and there was other cool stuff. I'm assuming this was real but why was it not preserved if they hungout there and rehearsed. Does Craig remember anything about that. Just curious.
