as a new Insurgency Sandstorm player looking to get better I’ve got to say this is a really underrated and well made video, most of the other vids have just been basic FPS tips (e.g. slice corners, don’t run cuz ads time, be quiet) but this video has so many useful tips I haven’t seen anywhere else so thank you for this 👍

My tip, after only playing two rounds as a new player. Shoot anything that looks like it can be a player. I learned this on the second match after questioning if that was a person or not a few times then being shot by a sniper. Would be easier to shoot and see if it sceams and worms away and not spend mental power as i stare at it moving like huh for the split second to be shot

I have some tips too: 1 - Map: One thing that you can see in map too its what direction your teammates are covering on the objective if you dont have a clear vision of them, so you can cover other spots. 2 - If a teammate is ALT walking in front of you is really probably that he knows that one enemy is close so dont run around him, you are going to get you both killed for dont paying attention. 3 - Flashbang is good but is inconsistent too, the best way to use it its not to blind your enemy but to make him scream and reveals his spot in the room and/or to make him temporaly deaf so you can run inside the objective without him knowing from what entrance you got in, if the objective have multiple ways to enter. 4 - ADSing and leaning make noises, so if you are inside a objective attacking ALT Walking, make sure that you only ADS one time or use your hipfire to kill the enemy inside the objective, and dont lean to much. 5 - Dont try to spot from the door, if the enemy is looking at the door normally your weapon its going to give your position if they are in a corner, so take some backsteps to look inside, dont hug the door. 6 - If you are using a 7.62 Weapon and knows some spots that enemies could be hiding, try to shoot some fires outside of the house in that spot, if you somehow dont kill the enemy they are going to give away their position bc of the pain inflicted. 7 - Only use Wood or Metal objects to hide your presence, dont try to take cover behind it because its really easy to kill someone behind it. 8 - Prioritize Compensator over Recoil Grip, your vertical recoil its easy to counter but the horizontal its much more difficult and you can equip a Aiming or Quickdraw grip in the underbarrel slot. 9 - Create at least 2 camo appearances for the Security faction, 1 for desert and another for urban environment maps, if you have the Snow DLC appearance for both factions then create one to Hillside. 10 - Dont expect people to be the most genius, at least rn, 90% of the time that you'll be killed in a fair 1v1 its because you are going to think that the enemy is one step ahead of you but in reality they are previsible, they dont change spots, if you are being targeted and lose sight of them if you return to the same spot most likely that they are looking in the same place for you, so flank them in "ALT Walking" because they dont expect it at all. Fun tip - You can muffle the sound of ADSing and footsteps of your teammates by loud talking in the radio next to a objective, a bonus if you trash talk with your enemy sometimes they lose the focus if you are talking to them.

Yea I agree with flash hider guy, cause this isn’t a game where you get shot and have time to look where you think enemies are and take another round or two while doing it. When you get hit once usually you’re booking it away from where you were while trying to spot them and sometimes you won’t see them unless they’re spraying at you without a flash hider.

nice tips. especially the: don't stand that close to the window is something i see many ppl get punished for but seem not to learn why. - that's a general thing: know when to move silent and avoid enemy attention - its easier to shoot the tail rotor of the helicopter or with the mg3 the turbine than the pilots. and if you say at the spawn and not move too much you won't get shot by the heli but you can still shoot it down - the backpack doesn't make your hitbox larger. but yes it makes your visible profile smaller. - if the enemy hides behind cover just shoot a few rounds on that cover. even if you can't kill them they sometimes panic and think they have to reposition themselves so they give up their current cover (works surprisingly often. and on reverse. don't panic if someone tries doing the same thing to you.) - if the enemy has map control maybe take the less obvois route out of the spawn. - if you accidentally bulled the pin of a grenade, you can use the gas mask (if you have one) and the nade will be save again and you don't have to throw it away - and probably the most important thing that doesn't go into ppls heads when taking an obj: THE OBJ DOESNT CLEAR ITSELF. Only camp on that objective if backup is coming. if your team has 0 waves and the obj is blocked you need to clear it. everything else will make you lose anyway.

- if you accidentally bulled the pin of a grenade, you can use the gas mask (if you have one) and the grenade will be safe again, and you don't have to throw it away. I'm often changing to Pistol then, works too ;-)

I think with number 7 sliding, if you are crossing an open field and start getting shoot use the “door bash” by hitting melee while sprinting. I have saved my life by doing this.

Loadout tips and the meta weapons: Famas, VHS, M4 for rifleman/commander/observer MP7/AS Val for breachers SVD, M110 and MK21 for snipers. Basically if you’re firing 5.56 ammo stick with aiming grip if you’re pushing/attacking and pick loading grip on defense. Breacher kits are the most expensive: extend mags, suppressors and x2 scope for short/mid range. Sniper rifles always stick with bipod + x7 scope + ext mag. With these combinations you should shred as many lobbies as possible, never use armor and stick with light/heavy carriers depending on what you’re gonna do. My main mode is domination but even there I like to use heavy carrier because I have carry potential, so 40% of the time I’m reaching the 6th~7th mag on my mp7/as Val.

I wanna point out for the sniper scope selection it depends on how you use it. I use the M110 and do a lot of pushing so I prefer the 4x-1x SU230 because it’s a good compromise between being able to shoot at distance from cover and being able to clear rooms with the BUIS with the ability to switch between the two very quickly.

The quickdraw grip actually speeds up all grenades animations. Try it out with a molotov, you'll see you light it up so much faster. That said, pretty complete guide!

As a 2 year player I never heard of the information about the eyewear. To be honest I've never pondered on that. Eyeware is definitely coming off when I get on next time. I would say knowing how smokes work is a big one. The smoke particles are rendered client side essentially meaning that every person will have the smokes looking different on their screen. So if you cant see through the smoke on your screen, theres a chance that the enemy can see through anyways because their smoke was rendered differently.

1 year late I know, but another tip is that you can use the map to see where your teammates are dying, so on offense you can avoid an mg meatgrinder, and on defense if you see a bunch of your teammates die in one area you can get a general sense of which direction the next attack is coming from and know roughly where to be looking. Basically, check your map more. Unless the enemies are right around the corner, there is plenty to gain and little to lose from doing so.

I like to use them as a cough finder on tense and close objs Know there's an enemy but you don't want to get slapped as soon as you breach a room? Affix mask, cook the smoke, wait for the cough, spray them down like you have a garden hose.

Tip: When dead, take the time to spectate your teammates in 3rd person, you can spot enemies, scout ahead, see how certain lanes are fairing and seeing where your friendly snipers/marksman are positioned which most likely are gonna be used by the enemy team next round.

Great guide for the new guys coming in. Another point as stupid as it sounds, get on point. If you're attacking then attack, get aggressive, if anything I've always said insurgency is like a race of how fast you can roll on objectives before enemies have a chance to prepare. Show up where your not expected while the shock is still in play. If you're defending then defend, get on point don't sit outside it. I'm still keeping my orange shades however 😎

If you keep getting killed by someone and can't locate them, after the fact you can check recording to learn their spot. I discovered many glitch spots this way. Then you can tell as many people as possible about said spot so it becomes known and patched. Lasers are a waste and funny. I remember I got shot and someone was waiting for me to peak because I could see their dot waiting for me to run out of cover.

The AK is nice with grip but it's very controllable After 150 hurs I have no problem spraying with eaither AK-74, AKM Alpha-AK or AKS-74. Edit UZI and MP5 is nasty with recol grip. It shoots straight like a laser.

Being a new player i must tell any new players. Or ones that simply dont know. Shotguns in this game are not like battlefield or cod. They have range and they act like real life counterparts. Put slugs in and you can get some really nice long shots. Real easy to use. The other is the g3. Insurgents. Great rifle. Laser accuracy with bursts. One burst will kill

@@BOSKASAURUS It just felt a bit weird for me sometimes to watch the footage of guns firing and not hearing them like at 6:25 although the background music is spot on. Sometimes you highlighted this like at 5:32 .When you talk it makes sense not to include in-game audio though. Afterall, it's a creative decision so I respect that, it creates a different atmosphere to the video. I'm interested in video editing as well and that might be the reason I was picky so forgive me :) I've checked some of your other videos and I have to say it's really nice quality and it's very inspiring, I did sub, keep it up!

Good to know, I hear you! Always trying to improve my editing so that’s why I asked. I had the guns on quite loud but found it would drown out commentary. Then balancing it all with the music so different audio wouldn’t come in too strong was a challenge. If I do it again I’ll try experiment more for more audio variety :)

Crouch jumping unfortunately is just a problem with the way the game physics work. It makes sense to use it, it's just a shame that it actually works rather than needing to use a vault. Great video though. Definitely agree with most of what you laid out.
