I prefer the run - throw - run game rather than the throw - throw - throw game. (And Jaren Hall can run too!) 4. Hard to be BYU playing on their own turn. The fans are crazy there. No one knew it at the time, but this would be the last non-conference game played between these rivals who had decades of shared conference membership across multiple conferences, most recently the MW in 2010. BYU was announced as a Big 12 member for 2023 soon after this game was played. Meanwhile, the Pac-12, which I thought was immune to defections due to the locations of their schools relative to the rest of the P5, began to crumble when UCLA and USC were accepted into the Big Ten starting in 2024. After that, the Pac-12 worked long and hard to get a new TV deal ironed out to start in 2024 with the possibility of replacing UCLA and USC that year. But August 2023 came and no new deal had yet been set in stone. The previous month, Colorado, who joined the Pac alongside Utah in 2011, had been accepted back into the Big 12 starting in 2024. The first week of August brought news that Oregon and Washington would likewise join the Big Ten in 2024, followed by the acceptance of Arizona, Arizona State, and Utah into the Big 12, with the fates of the remaining Pac-12 schools still up in the air as of this writing. 2022 and 2023 will go by without the BYU-Utah rivalry on the schedule. But when the rivalry resumes in 2024, it will be a conference game for the first time in 14 years. The schools had a five-game non-conference series that was set to start that year and run through 2028. Utah also had a game with Baylor scheduled in 2024 and games with Houston in 2026 and 2027. Because these schools are also in the Big 12, Utah will need to find two new non-conference opponents those three years.

I thought that too. How was he supposed to guess when the qb is gonna step out? Is he supposed to just gently guide him outta bounds and risk giving up more yards? Soft.

Oh I was there and I was pissed, his foot was inbounds when he pushed him.
