I have a 2000 Accord lx with 310,000 miles on it still original cap and rotor and coil and wires.I only replaced the plugs twice in its life and the timing belt.As the original owner this 6th generation Honda Accord problems are the seals.From the crank seal,balancer,oil pump,v- tec solenoid,distributor,valve cover gasket,oil pan gasket.I replaced all these in its 22 years of ownership.With regular oil and ATF,air & cabin filters,This car can last another 20 years.Thank you Lord.

This was the most reliable car I owned and sold it at about 140,000 miles years ago. The only "major" repair was a starter replacement. LOL Unfortunately, it was lacking safety features like multiple airbags, ABS, and structural body safety which advanced since 1999 quite a bit. Being behind with the safety features was the reason for selling it. It was a great simple reliable car which could tow over 1,000lb when equipped with a MT. I towed across states a trailer about 1,200lb with a breeze. It would be fun to still have this car.

How often should this be done? I got lucky & found a 2000 Accord with a manual transmission with only 146k. I changed the timing belt & water pump immediately. The car runs perfectly
@RBTheMechanic2 жыл бұрын
Nice job!!! That’s the first thing came to my mind timing belt!! Good that u did it!!! Somthing like this u should do around every 60k miles. Since u did time I would knock out this stuff as well

FYI changing the wires is still not necessary on the 6th gen accord save your money and keep/clean your well made oem wires. Also you put those on wrong, just saying if you drive around like that after a long while the second last cylinder will misfire because the cable is rubbing on that bolt.

@RB The Mechanic so I have been hearing this "clump clump clump" type noise kinda like a slight knocking,like someone is taking their finger and tapping inside the dashboard, im getting the feeling it has to do with my ac maybe? It sounds like it's coming from the driver's side behind the steering wheel area inside the dashboard🤔🤔
