Something actually happened to me one too. It wasn't as awesome as yours, but I ate a person(he/she was a drag) with no name, and I somehow leveled up to black dragon. I was only a phoenix at that time, and there was no way I could have gotten so much XP. Besides, I got +10mil XP perfectly.
