I just bought Dominion. So far it's been interesting 😃 I wouldn't have even known if I didn't find your channel, which was thanks to the collaboration episodes with good old Dan Carlin. I'm really thankful for that, because I love this podcast now 😁

It would be good of you could do a critique on Anthony Keldelis' work as he puts forwards that a Roman ethnicity developed and that the empire never never stopped being Roman in self-identity.

Robert Graves of "I Claudius" fame also wrote a much lesser well known historical novel about Belisarius and in it he calls Theodora's father Acacius a bearward which is pronounced "berod." An archaic word for a bear keeper - bit like "shepherd" which is sheepward.

I always thought "Justinians Plague" would be a fantastic name for a metal band.

why are these so goddamn short? these subjects/topics are so interesting I'm sure you guys can talk for more than 40mins about them. Maybe producer(s) think audience will get bored? or maybe tune it out after 40mins? If you're being told that by producers... please know this is false. Podcasting would not be successful if that were true. Dan Carlin would not be so well known.. I mean the man thinks a BLITZ podcast is 3 hours long (and we love him for it). People interested in history / those that are history-curious are willing to wait for good content -- and the content you guys have on this channel is, in fact, really good. so please! allow yourselves the time to expand your thoughts to exhaustion.

I'd also love longer episodes, playlists would be wonderful too. Thank you gentlemen.

they do not have the debt of knowledge or the real interest in the topics. They pick topics based on what they believe is the public appetite. trying to hit every demographic and interest group while riding the fence on the heaviest issues. scroll through their video list in order and see what I mean, a little bit of everything and not enough of any!

@@emadbagheri They may jump from subject to subject, but that makes the podcast more fun in my view. I wrote my masters thesis on Justinian, and I'm impressed of their grasp and knowlegde of the subject in this podcast. If you want more details and depth it's better to read a book on the matter.
