It's been a pretty tough 2 weeks here in Florida with two Hurricanes blasting through our part of the globe. My family has been abundantly blessed with no fatalities or major damage, but that can't be said for 10's of thousands of my fellow countrymen. Sleep has been tough, but today, my favorite melting Aussie has provided me with an awesome video to help me close my eyes and dream about melting metal! Thank you, BigStackD, for helping us to calm our anxieties and realize that the sun will come up again, tomorrow! Stay well, stay safe, and know that we'll get thru this together.

Hello, I have a suggestion for you: You might consider making a funnel 30-40 cm long and a little smaller than the diameter of the melting pot to add the melted material into the burning furnace. There is a special polymer "hammer" you can get with a hollow interior that will fit most bullets, and you put the round inside it, then hit the hammer down opposite of the round-side, and will use gravity plus force to pull the round out and all the gunpowder. Even if it's a blank/dud round, it should pull it out. I /think/ you can reverse it to eject the primer too. It's called an "Impact Bullet Puller Hammer", if that's something you'd consider adding to your arsenal of tools. :) They're like $30 US - nothing crazy.

Even if you missed a loaded round or primer nothing would happen when placed in the furnace that would hurt you or anything. It would simply pop if just a primer and if an unfired round it will simply split the side of the brass casing with a simple pop. Not even close to the noise of a firecracker. Nothing to worry or be stressed about.
