Let me advice you as someone that has been in your shoes before. Just stop trading yourself because you'll keep loosing money. Find a good trader and copy their trades. In my own case I meet a hedge fund trader from a Bloomberg publication and I begged him to sign me up in his copy trade and he did for free. It took him only 6months to raise my pnl to $1.4m

Thanks for reminding me about the importance of R-multiples and continuously following through with a trading plan. Most people would be up 8 points, not lock it in, close the trade for breakeven, and then beat themselves up over it. Have to think in probabilities! Informative video.

Carmine, when you cut a trade at less than a full R loss do you track what happens after? Could be that over time, those trades may be more profitable sticking to the original plan.

Yes, i agree with you however majority of the time it was a poor entry. If it does eventually move in my favor, then i rather hold till stop loss (certain conditions)

@@carmine_rosatoI think this is the key. Over time, you start to realize when you have a good entry with good trade location, versus a poor entry. On the poor ones, if it doesn’t work pretty quickly, you get out.

He knows what he’s doing and is taking himself out the trade. The stop loss defines the risk, but the trader is the one that takes themselves out the trade.

Expectancy is what counts ........E = %won X (avg$won/avg$ lost) - % lost This number needs to be over 0.2 ie for every dollar put in you EXPECT to make 20 cents ..........Now you can position size , which is the ONLY reason to trade.

This really doesn’t explain how you get out of trades for a stop. Seems a lot like feel based on a long time of reading price action. Seems like you jump out fast if it doesn’t fairly quickly go in your direction, except in cases where maybe you have a really good entry location. What percentage of time do you take a full stop, as in the one you intended initially based on the initial r factor?

When not scalping. When scalping, 90% of my best winning trades workout usually directly after entering due to how i confirm the setup. If volatility is lower and more positioned, i always maintain stop loss

54% Win Rate is pretty cool, but there is a very famous trader outside of U.S. who is worth about 200 millions and he says his win rate is about 30%. So, I find making a boatload of money with 30% win rate to be super cool. However, thinking about how one can make so much money with 30% win rate, I don't think his win rate is low because his entries are poor.
