Model 70, me too! I like my 3 position safety. I’m spoiled by the best. In the mean time, I’m rocking my Bergara B14 HMR 24” long 9” twist barrel with the 75 grain HPBT pills by Hornady… My load testing is going smoothly so far some mild loads of IMR 4320 has the bullets exiting at 2950 fps give or take. Peace Be The Journey!!

Checking in from Pennsylvania here. Try shooting a .5" diameter sticker with a 6 o clock hold, might shrink the groups. Good shooting nonetheless.

Hodgdon H414 and Winchester 760 (which is the same powder) are my favorite powders for handloading the 22-250. Based on my experience, these powders produce higher and more uniform velocities when used with large rifle magnum primers.

I'm thinking about getting the Tikka varmint Hunter because I love the Woodstock and they're offering it in a 1 in 8 twist I'm assuming your Tikka must be the fast twist because you're accurately shooting 69s. I see this video was 2 years ago what's the heaviest bullet that you've had accuracy with? I plan to use this gun for deer and varmints I'd like to be able to shoot from 55 to 75. I also love the Winchester model 70 also. I'll have to see if I can catch one of your videos with it. Thank you 👍

Yes, mine is a 1:8 twist as well. The heaviest I've tried in it were 79 grain, and it shot them very well. The heavier stuff is a little harder to get load data for though.

@@HyckoryStyckWorks Yeah I understand most people are only running 55 / 60 or less I plan to run 1 in 8 I'm probably only going to shoot 60 to 75 hunting bullets the heavier is mostly match bullets anyway. Thank you 👍

No pressure signs? I would hope not you're about 4 grains under the max charge according the Hornady manual.

Are you able to shoot lighter bullets as well, say 40-50gr without issue? Im guessing 1:8 barreled Tikka not usual 1:14.

I've shot 52gn with no problem, but it does not like 45gn at all.

@@HyckoryStyckWorks aftermarket barrel?
@HyckoryStyckWorks2 жыл бұрын
@@Lethal_Intent no, it's a factory barrel. Tikka made a special run of 1:8 barreled guns a few years ago and I picked one up.

I've got one of these 1:8 tikkas in stainless... still trying to fine tune it but so far it's done great with 68,73, and 75 grain bullets... powder being hard to find now though

Any time you shoot higher than 1 MOA with a Tikka, rest assured it’s not the rifle! 🤔

I do agree with this wholeheartedly.

I call it!! absolutely false plenty of Tikka and Sako's don't shoot moa some not even close some not even good enough to deer hunt 100 yards everyone says my Tikka/sako shoots . 5 or . 25 but what I've seen is far different some rifles shoot good some do not one group don't mean anything let's see videos of consistent .5 or .25 groups 3 in a row? expeasaly in the magnums I've seen Tikkas Brand New off the shelf shoot 5 moa not .5 but 5 even with having the gun gone through and trying 400.00 worth of different factory ammo some factory rifles just don't shoot and I can understand a lemon but the Sako 6.5 creedmoor wasn't even close to moa the Tikka 300 win mag shot 5-in groups on average even with Federal gold medal match and Hornady match the Sako 85 finlite 7mm months trying to get it to shoot just moa hundreds of rounds for load development some factory rifles just don't shoot good including Tikka/Sako maybe at the factory they can clamp them in a vise and they will but if a gun is designed in such a way that it's not accurate with a person behind it it's not much good for a person to use
