@@bluegrownlife9917 I ordered mine through Etsy through the AlgaeResearchSupply shop. While I'm waiting I'm taking light measurements in my apartment and making sure I can keep decent conditions.

@@julieboberg6095 yas, sounds great. FYI I actually haven't needed that much light for my spirulina. If it's a full sunny day coming through the window, I keep it just outside the sun (sometimes in the sun for a little bit) and it's doing really well.

I just started growing spirulina recently. I started out with a half quart of liquid to grow out, and then i upped it to a gallon. I definetly was too ambitious on the amount I increased it but also how early I did it. The liquid was getting hard to see through so I thought it was ready but I think I could have left it for longer(it had only been around 12 days I think. Now the gallon of water is spaced out between a few different bottles, not receiving any added air from a pump but I leave the tops of the bottles off and gently mix it around twice a day to get the spirulina off of the bottom of the container. Very little is floating to the surface, even when the lights are on. The color is still a nice green, not too bright, but it is already forming clumps. I think it is over fertilized, I added a full teaspoon to a gallon of water. The temp has dropped down to 70 in the house so ill be putting it back on a heated pad to warm it up.

Great to hear you're growing some! If it was hard to see through, it was likely ready to expand but there could be several factors to stunted growth. It's ok if it's not floating to the surface! keep mixing it up and make sure you're getting good aeration throughout. As long as you're in the right temp/pH range with some light and there's no odor/discoloration, you're probably good =)

Love the video and very educational. Can you give more instructions on how much maxi grow and ocean magic you add after harvesting. for example, you harvested 1 teaspoon of spirulina, how much maxi grow and ocean magic do you add back to your growing media?

Hallow, I am not expert about using microscope 🔬 And planning to buy one, have found one online named: "Professional Monocular Biological Compound Microscope 25X-675X Magnification" Can you suggest me whether by using this microscope, I can check spirulina well or not ?

You need a way to keep your culture circulating. It's much much happier with an air bubbler than sitting stagnate.

True that! For now, I'm trying to see what I can do without running power to it.
