The point of making the camera so far back is actually the show the scale of the city compared to your character. It regularly tells you that you're sort of unremarkable, and just like everyone.

It works well for the driving sections, but not so much for the on foot parts. It's alienating. The "unremarkable" part would have been better served narratively. I know it's made by a smaller company, this perspective was most likely chosen for development reasons before style. Closer camera would have required more detailed graphics and more animation. Having the camera far covers that up.

I think it actually works for the vehicle sections and does give you a nice lonely city vibe. The on-foot stuff, however, appears cartoonish which makes it clash tonally with the rest of the game. I get that there are probably technical reasons for the decision, but that doesn't make it any less irritating.

I love how far back the camera is. In sci fi cyberpunk settings, the city is a character and deserves to be absorbed as much as possible. Movies are limited in what they can show - video games like this can immerse you so well

It’s a cool idea but when you’re driving/flying you need to keep an eye on your vehicle and I’m not sure how much you’ll be able to enjoy when you’re constantly focused on what’s immediately around your little car. Hopefully there will be adjustable zoom to accommodate for everyone’s preferences

I think the opposite. I think closeness shows how society is oppressed in cyberpunk settings. All the lights, noise, towering skyscrapers, and walls. Constantly surrounded by walls and secrets. A bleak future where corporations control everything.

You can switch camera views between 1st person, 3rd person and this far our zoom you mostly see here. It’s not a bad game actually. I bought it mainly for the visuals. This game is quite relaxing. Sometimes I want to play games where I know I won’t get too excited that I’ll be awake until sunrise, but not bored out of my mind either. The story is interesting too but don’t expect a lot of variation in gameplay.
