One of the best EssenceFM tracks I've had the pleasure to hear. And thank you for the free sound bank. I'm using the sounds in my EFM MKII.

Really enjoying this, your work on the EssenceFM has been the best I have seen/heard. Looking forward to more. I’m just on the edge of buying one - the multitimbrality is a big feature for me for a compact live setup, just not yet sure if I will have the patience for the programming interface and learning curve. But it sure is a beast.

I've come back to this multiple times whilst gassing for an EFM and only just now realized the drums aren't coming from the OT. Incredible synth and composition. Is it safe to say the EFM goes well beyond the Digitone? Considering selling my DT to help fund an EFM -- now that I finally got a Cirklon it seems like the perfect pairing.

Thanks for the kind feedback. You can say that it goes well beyond the Digitone since it is a much deeper synth. It has incredibly high polyphony count and layering and it has 6 operators. Very powerful synth yes. However I am mainly using my Digitone since it sounds great and is much more immediate and surprising to use and compose on. I love the Control All feature which allows me to change all 4 sounds at the same time and just twist the whole pattern into something else so much more immediate and hands on. I’d wish the EFM had something similar or had macros that could change more than one slot in Performance mode. Also you have to be prepared to make sounds yourself since it doesn’t have a lot of cool presets but that’s the same with every synth if you want to take it further. You can do some incredible things with the voice layering on the EFM so much deeper sound design is possible. It really depends on how you want to use a given synth and they each have their strengths. Check my soundbank available on Kodamo’s site if you get it. Most of my sounds here are in that bank.

Have orders in for both OT MK2 and Oxi One. Do you use them together often, and how are you liking the pair? Plan to mostly sequence my iPad when using these two together.

Waiting for my Oxi but also checking out the Torso - I see you have both - although very different how do you find they compare?
@soarermusic2 жыл бұрын
A lot could be said about that but here’s a quick comparison. The Oxi One is more of a traditional sequencer with some cool features. It’s easy to record what you do with it and you can instantly load/play patterns. You have 128 steps per pattern which is great. Oxi One has some cool ways to randomize sequences and you have CC modulation and CV too. The T1 is a Euclidean sequencer with an algorithmic method which means that you dial in your patterns and so it’s harder to do something precise or specific with like a clearly defined melody or bass line. The T1 can be much fun to play with and you find many surprising and interesting musical expressions. For Euclidean patterns the T1 is king. It has no CC modulation. Check the active threads of both of these on elektronauts.com.

I think the latest T1 (beta) update adds CC tracks? That lack of CC control felt like a bit of a miss before, but they seem to be adding new features nicely.

Interesting! what is the job of the octatrack in this track? is the octa master clock?
@soarermusic2 жыл бұрын
Yes clock and EssenceFM drums and synth tracks are going through the Octatrack for effects.

Nice track! How long have you had your OXI ONE? Did you find it easy to learn?
@soarermusic2 жыл бұрын
I've had it for a couple of months. It's easy to learn the basics but it takes some time to get use to the various combos. Still new things are being improved and added so it will keep growing. I'm very happy with it.
@bill772 жыл бұрын
@@soarermusic That sounds very promising. I'm still waiting for mine. Trying to fill the time by watching videos like yours that show people other than the OXI folks using it. =]
