Wow, everything looks amazing…I can’t believe how many grafts are on that one tree! I am also astonished about the trifoliate influence in your ten degree tangerine seedlings - a hybrid Sacaton x Clemyuz sounds amazing! I’ve been sprouting some Sacaton and have definitely noticed a lot of variability in growth…some are completely monofoliate, some are mixed, while some are fully trifoliate. It’s also interesting how some have long slender leaves while others are wide, and the difference in pace of growth between seeds from the same fruit.

Thank you! I've been practicing my side veneer grafts for a while, they have really good success! If your seeds are from Stan there is a good chance some of your Sacaton seedlings are hybrids too if they have similar leaves to this one! Sacaton leaves tend to be more rounded and darker in appearance, with some mixed foliage types.

Nice grafts! my outdoor taitri has no where near as much as your citrumelo! Will be cool to see how all the fruit looks with influence from the rootstock.

Thank you! And definitely, larger fruit size should be interesting with a lot of these varieties, even just normal trifoliate orange! Looking forward to seeing your Taitri this year and how the Citrandarin grafts perform.

So cool, you definitely got a fruit of 10 degree tang that got crossed! I’m glad you shared the odd balls you have got. Love your mini seedling greenhouse. What can of fertilizer are you using for your seedlings? Stan always says to use ozmocote for seedlings since it won’t burn but I wanna hit mine with some fish emulsion

Thank you! The mini seedling greenhouses are super space-efficient and great for growing in smaller indoor spaces since you can stack them vertically. I like to use 1/4 to 1/2 strength doses of Jacks Classic 20-10-20 Citrus Food. It's a liquid fertilizer but I haven't had any issues burning them! I just water regularly with the diluted solution and all our container citrus love it too.

what is the aim of this experiment to try the most cold resistant citrus
@themulberries7 ай бұрын
Our aim is to have a single tree that preserves all of these varieties in case we want to propagate more. Also for novelty-sake since it will be cool to look at! We have tasted most of these citrus already, but the Citrumelo rootstock will make the fruit larger and possibly taste slightly different.
