This speed run really gave me a new level of appreciation for Hikaru's chess skills. I thought, hmm, if Hikaru can trash low level players while down a queen with the hippo opening, surely I can beat 1200s using it and NOT sacrificing my queen. Then I proceeded to lose like 4 games in a row. The Hippo opening is actually really difficult to play properly. So not only is Hikaru winning down a queen, he's doing it with an opening that's extremely tough to navigate. Mad respect!

It depends on the playing style. I tend to play defensive and flag people by playing fast moves. After last few videos, I tried hippo and gosh, I am enjoying bleeding people of their time or having them collapse by trying to break desperately.

Ive watched every single one of these on this Speed run and something I simply and blow away by is how few times his opponent will sac back a bishop or a knight to open up the position, I honestly think I only saw it 3 or 4 times. Thats the winning move, blow open the pawn structure thats how he is winning.
