One of the most REAL women you'd ever meet in Hollywood. No bull shit, wickedly funny and incredibly smart. She was a fairly popular Hollywood script doctor too, often being asked to read over comedy scripts and revise/tighten them up a bit.

this is so sad, in this interview she talks about wanting to move to England but not doing it because her daughter was still a child and she didn't want to separate her from her American dad... Carrie just bought a London house a few months ago since Billie is all grown up now and she finally could have made her dream come true but she died 😢

Well she didn't die on the plane but she did 4 days after being in IC in a hospital in LA. But indeed its creepy how coincidence can happen. Right before she left to london to then take a plane to LA she was in my home country Belgium visiting the city of Bruges. Somehow she loved the place but man did I had tears when I heard the news.
@slcRN1971
@slcRN1971 4 жыл бұрын
MoewJoew : from what I read and heard, she did not ever ‘wake up’ again after the heart attack on that plane. The defibrillator was used yet she remained unresponsive. CPR continued while she was being carried off the plane, then continued by the paramedics and she was intubated (placed on a respirator) at the hospital. Her mother (Debbie) gave information out about Carrie NOT any medical staff, very telling.

This interview is when Carrie became close friends with Graham, they had dinner after it. She'd never seen a talk show host push the boundaries like Graham did back in his early days.
@johnking5174
@johnking5174 2 жыл бұрын
The one reason why Graham could push boundaries was the fact he was employed by Channel 4, the British channel which was created in 1982 to be unique. Channel 4 could air far more adult material than BBC or ITV, and so Graham had utter freedom.

Sure they're supposed to be old now, but if they'd made them in 1999 then the story would have had them younger. And I'm not bashing PT, just that they could have waited since the cast was (almost) all new. Whereas getting to TFA 30 years later, the actors you need, have aged 30 years.

There was an episode he did with Linda Hamilton which at one pint he called an actual super fan of hers that incidentally also was into balloon sex and he had her play with a balloon while talking to this guy which you could physically actually hear him moaning on the air. He had a show on channel 4 that was initially once a week. Then Went to 5 nights a week Monday-Friday. It was after big brother and he’d always open with a hot take on it. You know to me Carrie Fisher is a emblematic character of what can happen when you have a lot of baggage and cumulative aging. I don't really mean to say that in a bad way but look at her here and just fast forward like 16 years. She looks like a completely different person not only physically but emotionally and spiritually the last time she was on The Graham Norton show she had a therapy dog for Christ's sake very sad. Norton hasn't changed at all as far as presenting goes. Obviously he has to tone things down on the BBC but he is still pretty much the same guy. I remember a lot of people used to not care too much for him back then but now he has won them over and is probably the best chatshow host in the country, especially now that Jonathan Ross has lost the thing he used to have that made me love his show. I am not a massive Star Wars fan but Carrie Fisher seemed like a wonderful person and it's sad that she is no longer with us.
@johnking5174

Unlike Jonathan Ross, Graham has become an international talk show legend. He is admired and loved especially by the Americans. Graham is a regular guest on their talk shows, and is friends with Stephen Colbert, Jimmy Fallon and Seth Meyers especially, who have had him on their show many times. In fact Fallon appeared on Graham's show in return, even though Fallon is a virtual unknown in the UK. Jonathan is barely known here in the UK as his talk show is now a watered down, lukewarm version of his BBC show, sadly ITV have no other late night talk shows, they are simply keeping him on air because they have no alternative.

@John King I actually watch more American tv than UK tv and yeah I've seen Graham Norton appear on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert. I have not seen him on Fallons show but that is because I can't stand to watch Jimmy Fallon fake laugh his way through each interview. I even saw Graham Norton on an episode of Colin Quinns Tough Crowd. It was surreal seeing Graham alongside Jim Norton and Patrice O'Neal. It must've been early on in Grahams visits to the states because he didn't quite manage to impress but to fair that show was not your typical comedy show format so Graham didn't do that bad considering.
