I think he's referring to Series 3 episode 9 where he plays John Smith and when he and Joan touch the fobwatch together they see their possible life together where they get married and have kids. And John Barrowman is in that series, though not that episode! The only other time David's Doctor gets married is to Queen Elizabeth the first I think...
