They can in nightvale, and then there would be no one to tell the restless spirits they need exercise. And, anyway, they're also just solitary wind gusts, and surge waves in power lines. With out scientists ghosts are real. If ghosts are real, a dead scientist can keep explaining things, it's all very ouroboros

I'm hoping it's just some spring cleaning of old storylines/characters before new mysteries are introduced. Maybe it will be revealed that there never was a UWII, it's just been a case of mass hysteria brought on somehow by the biological murals-?

It's so strange cause if feels less like explaining the town, and more like decomisioning of SCPs, as if the very odd nature of these things are being siphoned out of them.
