Hi Petra, The texture paste came out nice, it makes great crackle paste. You are the first person I seen to use alcohol inks on canvas. So far it looks fantastic. It will look awesome under resin. I can't wait to see the next part. Thank you for sharing your experiments and your amazing talent with us
@petrajongbloed44255 жыл бұрын
Hi Tina, yes the texture paste worked great. What I experienced with alcohol inks on a canvas is that it doesn't flow that good. The surface isn't that smooth as Yupo paper, but still I love the blending of the colors. Thank you so much for your kind words. I appreciate it a lot.

This is beautiful Petra, you are a natural. Alcohol ink is way harder than it looks. You make it look easy 😊💟💟 I love how you made your own texture paste that crackle paste is very expensive. That's why I've never bought any 😂😊💟

Thank you so much for your nice compliment Naptime Creations. I appreciate it a lot. So nice of you to say that. Yes, I agree, working with alcohal inks requires a lot of practice. The texture paste I made in the video is very cheap. You can even color it with water soluble pigments or a little bit of acrylic paint.

@@petrajongbloed4425 I love that, thank you for that tip. I am going to try to make some asap. My next order of resin should be here next Thursday, then I can experiment. 😉 Seems like I've been waiting for the resin forever. 💟💟💟

Beautiful beginning, Petra. I watch with great interest as I have ranger and piñata inks, never very happy with my attempts. Piñata is so vibrant, love them, but I struggle to do them justice. Everyone makes it look so easy! I do not find it so, lol.xx

Thank you so much Sonia for your nice compliment. I experienced that working on a canvas with alcohol inks is not that easy. The flow of the inks is not that good. Next time I will try it on a Yupo paper.

Thanks for this video. I have some marble dust given to me and I want to make some structure paste. I love the texture ! Is GAC800 the same as acrylic binder? I also saw a video where gesso was used to make the paste. I saw the acrylic paint thinned dow gets in the cracks good.
@petrajongbloed44255 жыл бұрын
That's great Ocean that you got some Marble Dust. No, GAC800 is not the same. Acrylic Binder is a kind of paste. Normaly it's used to make your own acrylic paints by adding mica pigments. GAC800 is much more fluid and is used as a pouring medium. Yes, you can also make a paste with Gesso and adding the Marble Dust to it. I also did that 1 time. I will add the link to the video. kzbin.info/www/bejne/jIiZmKqinZylo6M

I just ordered the marble powder and binder from Amazon thru your site. This just might be the perfect answer to my thoughts of making the diptych I mentioned to you. It looks like it would also make great bark texture for certain types of trees, like pine or oak. I do have some questions though. Forgive me if you explained the answers in your video. I know you used the heat gun to create the crackle. . Did you use the high or low setting to make the crackle? Did you keep the heat on until it felt dry on the surface? Or just briefly? Also, does heat do something special to the alcohol ink? Or can I use an art air compressor for spreading the ink? Do you ever use an art air compressor for your acrylic pours? . . Ut oh!! Too many questions⁉️🥴 . . Can’t wait to see how this turns out because its beautiful as it is❣️
@petrajongbloed44255 жыл бұрын
Thank you so much Evelyn for ordering the supplies through my Amazon link. I appreciate it a lot. Yes, this texture paste can work for the ideas you have for the diptych. I used the low heat on my heatgun. I dried it just as long as it was dry to the touch. After that it needs to dry for 24 hours and then more cracks will appear. If you put heat on the alcohol ink it will dry very fast and you can create nice effects with it. You can also use a air compressor. I have tried that, because I don't have a air compressor/airbrush. I think if you use it then you can blend the colors more softer in lighter shades. No problem that you have so many questions.

I'm also a big fan of Sabina, I'm wondering if just glue would work, do you know?
@petrajongbloed44254 жыл бұрын
Yes, Sabina is great and I get so inspired by her. Do you mean PVA glue? Then I think it would work. An acrylic binder is also like a glue.

Looking great ! I have a suggestion I have used home made Gesso [its very easy ] them I make different shapes blobs or what ever makes the art come alive then before and it dries I heat it up and it bubbles I use different colours when mixing the Gesso I thought you may like to try it There is a KZbin video not sure of its name but its something like thing to do with Gesso
