I'll say it again, green grass in the background with your vids means its gonna be a splat factory.. nothing like epic long range battles in a remote field, great vid 👍👍

222 LOVE! I love the 222 because of the accuracy. I reload and the cost of 222 reloads are cheaper than 223! But i totally get that people love the 223 for cheaper factory rounds

Gotta like that triple 2. This makes me want to hit the rifle range with mine now that I got the bore cleaned real good and I can get back down to some good loads for it. Fouled bore was causing me some accuracy problems with good loads and I never have accuracy problems with my triple 2. So I knew something was up with it. Took a long soaking and scrubbing to get the built up copper and lead out. I clean my triple 2 after every shoot with it but the bore was long overdue for a deep cleaning. From now on I need to keep that bore cleaned better. Thanks for sharing.

My 788/Burris 4-12 worked best with Sierra 52 hp. Best was 3 rd inside a .30 call hole at 200m with one 'warmer'. Farthest groundhog was estimated (paced off) 525 yd from hood of truck w/Harris bipod. Yes, 222 will do! ;) Wish now I'da never sold it. Good shooting, CD

My 1st firearm purchase was a Savage 840E, 222Rem., in 1974. I’d just turned 18, he was sick in the hospital, and my brother and I took it to him in his hospital room. My brother was taller than me, so he stuffed it down his pant’s leg, and limped into the room. Even got asked what happened to you. Told em slipped of the hay trailer. lol Doubt we’d get away with this nowadays

I kinda surprised your not using one of your dial up scopes. Having said that, there’s nothing wrong with a good holdover reticle. Good shootin’ CD. Most Impressive.

Found this Weaver K-10 in a gun shop for cheap, kind of the same age as the rifle, The kind of stuff we wished for in the early 70s. Couple days after this shoot, I mounted a 8.5--25x50 on the 222 until a project in the gun safe is complete

cavedweller1959, as much a do like a very clean fine cross hair reticle on hunting scope, provided I have a dialup turret to adjust for ballistic drop, I absolutely love my Leupold Vx-3i 4.4-14x40 CDS ZL w/ side focus capability. Although it is just a wind plex reticle, the CDS turret allows for fast accurate adjustments. Talk about a sweet piece of glass. The only way to better that is to have a larger main tube and a 44mm objective. Oh thats right, it’s called a VX 5.

I have an old .222 Rem (Stevens I think-have to check to be sure) I"ve had since the '70's. The damn extractor is broken and I've looked high and low for a replacement to no avail. Be fun to shoot it again...if it wasn't a pita to get the brass out.

My .222 Savage broke the extractor very early in its life, about 69 or 70, and I made one that worked until I could get one from Savage Arms.
@stevenclark70704 жыл бұрын
Looks like you have a 1" tube on your glass. Do you prefer that size over 30mm?
@cavedweller19594 жыл бұрын
Not really, This is a late 60s- early70s era scope I believe, same as the rifle. The stuff I grew up shooting with. 10x, no BDC or adjustable turrets really limits the rifles potential. I just replaced it with one of my 8.5-25 Leupold for a couple days in the field. The Weaver K-10 will go back on after that.

Canon Vixia HFR800 HD. My 1st one cost me $330.00. lost it on the prairie on a coyote hunt. This one is a refurbished off the Canon website, $160.00. Thinking of ordering another just because.

Dude I enjoy your videos . Out of your 17 hornets which one is your favorite? The Ruger or the CZ ?
@cavedweller19594 жыл бұрын
I parted with the Ruger a long time ago, Had to clean every 20-25 rounds to keep it's accuracy. That don't work for what I use them for. I've ran the CZ way over 250 rounds before cleaning and it still had zero issues.

I got a Savage 223 a few years ago but since have gotten into reloading. Is it worth it to pick up a 222? Always wanted one for the classic cool factor
@cavedweller19594 жыл бұрын
Look until you find a good quality .222. Then dump the .223, unless it's an AR-15 [Don't forget to stock up heavy on ammo, the way the libtards are acting, it may come in handy]
@skeet3304 жыл бұрын
@@cavedweller1959 I enjoy reloading so I was thinking of getting a TC prohunter so I can swap different barrels without having to have a heap of rifles. Figure than I can justify getting into several other calibers 223 is a bolt action but I also have an AR and a few crates of ammo on standby because these libtards lost their damn mind Keep up the good shooting!!!

Hi mate just giving you a heads up cavedeweller1959. Love the work. I noticed and reported a comment from someone who was requesting you to be friends, do not open or view a comment with ( wanna be friends) directed at you. Its a hacking bot were it kidnaps you're KZbin channel. By replying to the bot comment on your KZbin video, a hacker could gain access to your KZbin account and turn it into a comment farm for promoting fake channels.

Go easy on them bud, I {everyone?} upload videos to private, do the finale editing, then make public. My last 2 uploads Y-T made public right off the git-go. A video that length takes Y-T about an hour to process, when I checked to see if it was ready, it had been public for 20-25 minutes. I uploaded it for my Patreon page. You got a sneak peak of what it's all about.

Well I stand corrected then. Just tried if hearing about them stomping on everyone's, (conservatives mainly) rights! Have to excuse the outburst, just hard to stay sensible these days! Thanks for explaining the process.

@Robn-CivilRights We are definitely seeing some terrible times in our nation! I'm hopefully that we are not seeing the tide turned for the worst. The media like to portray things to make it look like it's a landslide, but I think there are still to many Patriots left for it to happen! Keep our faith and the Lord will do the rest!
