Back in the 70's and 80's I was a music enthusiast! If it came out I had it! One of my greatest fears to getting saved was what will I listen to because I played music all the time. I gave my life to the Lord 1985 and initially got into the various artist and choirs at that time. I enjoyed them but it still wasn't quite what I wanted to spend quiet time meditating on. I was a soldier and was transferred to Turkey January 21, 1987. There a brother named Tracy Macdonald introduced me to Commissioned. I couldn't believe this type of music existed in the body of Christ. Nothing against the traditional gospel music but this kept me as a young Christian soldier, away from home and church. I thank God for Commissioned!

Commissioned...MAN! I have never ever heard lyrics in a song like theirs, not to mention the vocals and music. God truly blesses them.

1st, even though my comment is late: "Thank YOU for Serving". 2nd, Yes!!! I Love/Loved a number of Gospel artists BUT Commissioned & Be Be & Ce Ce Winans helped me, a 20 yr old, Babe in CHRIST in a Very Big way!!! Artists like Daryl Coley & Vicky Winans helped Me in my journey. I Am Totally Biased & Fervently believe the Christian community & the music industry will Never have another Contemporary Gospel group like Commissioned. Like the movie, The Highlander, "There Can Be Only One".

Jared011Green exactly I love Commissioned, they change the game, Mitchell Jones brother used to write songs with Marvin Winans, and also Stevie Wonder lived around the corner from the Winans so Commissioned has inspired and been and inspiration✊🏿

I am beyond grateful for these uploads by you and others of Commissioned live ...especially because they always add special harmonies and parts not found on the recordings. DON'T CARE about the low audio and video quality...they shine SHINE SHINE. I am happy ! They have a special gift ..they fill us with glory and joy in praising the Lord. :)

Maxx Frank handled this excellently he was playing passive chords back then that us musicians play now! One of the best to ever do it
@chandlerw.dukesii.8097 Жыл бұрын
So true so true, in my opinion Maxx Frank is an unsung hero in the gospel musician community/gospel music industry. He came into Commissioned in 1990 right behind a revolutionary innovate musician, songwriter, producer in that of Bishop Michael Brooks who was cutting edge in his production taking gospel music production/technology to the levels it had never been before, what Maxx Frank did in turn was enhanced what Brooks started taking it to a level my generation is still trying to reach but hasn’t really gotten to yet, because there is an anointing and spirit he did it in that today’s music doesn’t match. Commissioned’s 80s material I love too but it’s this late 1990-early 1995 era I love above all partly due to Maxx Frank and the way he musically captained the group, Eddie Howard too. The books close on Commissioned, all original no carbon copy at all, they changed the game of gospel music, we are indebted to them for doing so.

Anyone know where I could buy this on VHS/DVD? I want to make it into a restoration project to remove the hiss etc. I've done it already with this youtube video as a source but you loose a lot of high end to get rid of the hiss, would be nice to have a better original to work with. Didn’t realize that was Marvin Sapp. I’m not a huge fan of him. He seems to always be trying to stand out. He’s admins go from 0-1000. I always see Fred looking at him like, “dial it back Marv”. On the Verzuz battle between Fred and Kirk. Bishop Marvin was a guest appearance and he did the most. Fred was not impressed lol but God blessed them both! 🙏🏽
