Yes you can! PU resin takes solvent based paints very well

Yeh Let's Resin only make PU resin in white currently which is a shame. Soon Just4YouOnline will have their clear PU available so watch this space

OMG the mini !! i remember back in Bristol when my parents owned a red mini and i was about 2 i think and i used to sit in the back right behind the frontseat. Wasnt much room LOL Can't wait to see th eplants and the plant molds !

Yep. it's a mish-mash from '59 to 2000 in the detail but it really works. Great little mould

This is one of the things I admire most about you. You're FEARLESS! I haven't tried the PU yet because the short work time makes me very nervous. I've tried Let's Resins version of Eco Pour and got along with it so at so point I'm sure I'll get my courage up. 😵 I love the Terra Cotta color this turned out. It's beautiful for a flower pot. I wonder if you took some water based paint and mixed it with the Eco Pour if that would work as a way to color the EP to get a more true color.

Yes :) I have proper colours for Eco Pour. Most waterbased paint works but the proper pigments are a lot more pigmented so you get stronger colours. I have a video from a few months back on the different ways to colour these resin alternatives

I was wondering if painting a mica powder on the inside of the mold would work the same with the polyurethane as it does with other acrylic resins. I’ve not ever used poly so I’m completely unfamiliar with it. Love the little mini mold and your choice of color works well for a planter. Thanks for sharing! 😊❤

Yes it does. I have a whole bunch of videos on my channel colouring PU resin - and there's a lovely dragon one made just as you say. this mould is intended for eco casting powders really though so it's a matte finish. But I bet we could laquer the finished article to make mica's pop

how cute!!! I have brushed a model with chameleon flakes and used the white PU and it picked up the color nicely. IDK if it was because I really burnished the mold with the flakes or if it was the mold. Have fun!

Yes that's how chameleon flakes work. This mould is squishy so it should be easy to turn inside out to do that. It's not a shiny mould though, it's a mat finish so it would have to be laquered after for the chameleon fakes to pop. It's soft so they do stick

should look amazing but matt finish as this is a mat mould - hence why the polyurethane resin has come out mat. Could be varnished of course though. It's on my llist to do :)

So cute ! If you turn it inside out and used powders on the inside of the mold before you used the white polyurethane, would it turn out like it does on regular resin or would it have a matte finish as well? I've never seen this done and I'm curious about the results.

it would be matte - though it could be lacquered after I guess. I will be experimenting further :)

I am currently testing that under my uv lamp and neither Apex Epoxy or that PU resin have discoloured so far. . by summer when we have a lot more real sun we should have an answer :)

@@miniscenesgb I live in Spain so summers are REALLY hot (like in the 40s) and I’ve done a couple of pieces that tend to lose shape or bend in the heat - alcohol inks disappear very quickly too, but I was thinking more about outdoor planters holding up in high temperatures. Thanks for the reply! x

@@Ali-H3444 yes it's a paper cup. the resins I use other than deep cast are all just 1 to 1 as I say in the video. I reuse the paper cups many times before throwing away
